First, to even have a chance this thing will work well you usually have to shave down the neck. From there, you need to say 3 "Our Father's" and 2 "Hail Mary's" before any high impact dive you're about to do because you're about 50/50 to lose that bad boy diving into the snake. Back in the day this was a fine call, but with the great hoppers we have today there is just no excuse to own one of these.

The "Egg" as it is so affectionately called is a good entry level loader for the beginning player. I did like the fact that the weight was shifted a little more towards the rear because it made it more comfortable for me being above my rearward hand. with a couple of modifications, I was able to increase the consistency and speed of the loader.

This was the first loader I ever purchased. It was used for about 3-4 games, and has never broken down. There are many "homemade" upgrades that you can do to this loader. The best part about them is that everyone sells them for a very low price!
They work very well with reballs as well(fake or real, they feed slow with the fake ones though).
Thoughts: Although I would not recommend this loader, it would be a fine starter for all of the newer players out there.
Your best bet would be to splurge for the Reloader B (an extra $10-$20) or Halo B.

I bought my evvy back in 2004 and it was okay back then. The neck has always made me a bit wary but it never broke on me. I did have a problem with the lid however. The springs wouldn't always catch the lid so it would sometimes open on me while I was on the field.

BEST pro is battery savings. You can keep batts in forever and it does not kill them! Solid back up loader! It does feed fast enough for even tournament ramping.
Flaws. POOR WEAK SHELLS. VERY POOR battery door design. Bad lid design
Notorious for breaking the tabs on the shells that hold the battery door on. the evo 3 has a mechanism on the sheels that keeps this from happening.
I've had a few times where it would start blending paint. i think this is a problem with the z-board if the loader if very full. don't over fill with z-board

I'd picked up an Egg numerous years ago to mount on my LCD Angel. At the time, it was one of the better hoppers available, but already giving way to the HALO series in popularity. While the 200 round capacity is nice to have (as opposed to the 160 I could get in my Reloader B/HALOs), that is offset by the back-heavy setup. Having the neck of the hopper forward rather than centered causes the balance of the hopper to be a bit odd. The lid is unlike any other, a clamshell type door opening toward the shooter. This gives a shelf to hold extra balls or spills during loading. Back in the day, players could be seen leaving the loading lid open at the beginning of games to make loading easy. However, the lid and especially the battery door are FRAGILE. I lost track of how many battery doors I've broken just by putting batteries in. It's not uncommon to see pictures going back to the initial models where players have duct taped around the hopper to keep the battery door attached.
