Cons: Looks.
Cousin got this kit in a package deal & gave it to me (he's got plenty of barrels already). Not that i need it, either, but i had eyed them on occasion & was sad to see Powerlyte disappear, missing my chance.

Not knowing which version of the Scepter this is, i did some online photo comparisons. I devised that this must be an 07 Scepter kit w/ 5 inserts, although one insert has less engraving on it (no Scepter logo & different font for the bore size). It didn't come with a hard case, though; rather, it's got a small bag with slots but the bag says Powerlyte on it.

Enough of that mess, let's get to performance. Total assembled barrel is light as a feather, which was impressive, having owned a Freak kit in the past and remember it being much heavier than this (i could always weight this and my cousin's Freak for a legit comparison). It also feels as light or maybe even lighter than my current fave barrel, the Un1tech.

Used it on a Mini all day last practice with fresh Karnage Rip & Tear. Over the chrono, it is definitely ball-on-ball accurate (i have to say over the chrono because my own accuracy in-game kinda sucks). Never broke a ball so i have no idea how well it self-cleans, but as smooth as the bore is, i'd imagine it can clear well enough.

I have the older style with the longer inserts. It has 9 inserts and a 14" tip. Admittedly I never use anything larger than a .684 any more so the larger inserts are a complete waste. The newer Scepter kit isn't as good since the inserts are 4". Anyway, this is a very reliable and consistent barrel kit. I use mine quite often. My only complaint is that there are no inserts smaller than .680. With paint shrinking like it is now days smaller inserts are becoming a necessity. I just bought a freak kit to get the smaller inserts.

Cons: Not made anymore
Between this and the freak kit I love them both.

Updated 2/10/13- after using this kit now for more than 2 years I go to this barrel for all my a/c threaded guns. Most times it will shoot through barrel breaks with surprising accuracy. After buying different tips and backs I can't wait to try it out on other guns.

I've been using a Scepter kit on my guns for over 4 years, maybe even 5. I've used most high end barrels currently on the market, and the Scepter is hands down the best barrel I have ever shot. Its everything the Freak should have been. The inserts are thicker and honed much much better than the freak. The inserts get locked into place when you screw in the front, which also aligns the insert perfectly with the front. They're also teflon coated, and it really does help when you have to shoot through a break, the Scepter shoots clean really well. And if you ever want to use it on a gun with different barrel threads, you can just pick up a new back. Powerlyte has some of the best customer service in the industry, they are amazing. All of their stuff (including the Scepter) is really affordable, and of the highest quality. If you're a fan of the Empire Revolver barrel, the Scepter is the exact same thing. Powerlyte makes the Revolver for Empire, its just a re-branded Scepter.

ONE MORE PRO IS THAT THE BARREL HAS LOCKING IN INSERTS...

I got this barrel used for 60 bucks and its probably the best decision i've ever made in my whole entire life...(no joke) anyways this barrel when i got it looked pretty cheap because of the case....i start shooting some reballs with it and you can tell a total difference from the stock mini barrel...

i went to the field and its not BALL ON BALL...(probably because of the paint i was using...seconds lol) i started to notice that i get at least 2-3 more kills than i usually get...this barrel it like my baby now i will never sell it...unless for more and i just get another one for cheaper lol....

GET THIS BARREL GUYS!!!!! trust me...u guys think OHHHH its not accurate...dude this barrel has every feature available....TOTALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY.

i hope this review helped guys...

Powerlyte Inc. Scepter Barrel (2007 version) All I can say is it works as it should. The sleeves are sturdy as well. It's a good buy if you don't want to or can't afford to get a Freak kit.
