Phantoms are the height of precision pump markers. No hefty pump arms, slim - sleek - lightweight aluminum body, precision machined internal hammer & bolt system and hand-finished with excellent attention to detail!

I bought this gun to find a cheaper way to play and found more than just that from this gun. Apperance
I pulled it out of the box and was simply amazed. Mine way all black and this thing shined. It doesnt need the acid wash finishes to look great. It was very subtle and flashy at the same time. Maintenance
Field stripping was a breeze. After a gun hit I would just take it apart on the spot, wipe it with rag and keep going. I has 2 thumb screws and comes apart to about 4 pieces if I remember correctly. Velocity adjustment was very easy too. Performance
I used to get between 30-40 shots out a 12 gram depending on the temperature. There is no need for an after market barrel, the stock one is great. This is the MOST accurate gun I have ever shot. It is also the quietest gun I have ever shot. If you are playing and the wind is blowing some leaves around it is almost impossible to hear it. Overall
I would buy this gun again in a heartbeat(if I had the cash). If you want a great pump gun this is the one to get. I have nothing negetive to say about it in any way. I recomend it to any level of expirience because of its simple design and reliability. Also If you buy one straight from the factory you are not treated like some number, When I called the owner actually answered the phone and walked me through everything. I cant say enough good things about this gun.

Now this review may appear biased due to my full marks in all categories. But I assure you it is for very good reason. I have owned 3 phantoms in the last 6+ years, not one single problem that couldnt be fixed with good cleaning and lube job. I have owned both Phantom VSC's and Classic phantoms. First i will cover the differences between the two.
VSC+CLASSIC PHANTOM COMPARISON
I find the VSC version to be more practical in tight situations, such as speedball or highly aggressive woods play where every inch of cover counts. the ability to change 12gram cartridges without taking your barrel off of your target is obviously a great advantage, but with the classic phantom with the changer in the back i find the gun alot more stable and evenly balanced. now you may say but you can use the vertical changer as a handle..wouldn't that be practical for aiming? I can assure you, your hand will not leave the pump handle during play. so the weight in the back on the classic i find levels out the weight of the barrel keeping it on target.
QUIETNESS
The quietness of a well broken in (3-4k rnds)phantom is unmatchable, commonly a loud whoosh without the familiar crack of louder open bolt markers. An excellent choice for those of you sneaky bastards out there.
UPGRADES
Really the only upgrades needed would be your custom anodizing, the stock barrel is a slightly larger bore, but absolutely unbeatable. yes there are good aftermarket barrels such as the discontinued dye boomstick, but they are definitely not needed. The ghostring is fun, but impractical, in real firefights. also if you bought the 45 gripped phantom like the smart little boy and or girl im assuming you are, dye sticky grips make you become one with the marker. Trust me. most definitely worth the $32 bucks.
GRIP CHOICE
DO NOT BUY AN M16 GRIP PHANTOM. PERIOD. Go into the B/S/T section for pump markers and look for phantoms. notice something? 99% are m16 grips. wonder why they are up for sale? THEY SUCK. they are slippery, uncustomizable, uncomfortable and just a pain in the ***. PERIOD. go with the .45 you wont regret it.
MAINTENANCE
Phantoms are relatively foolproof. The parts are durable, no tricky electronics or valves. All you need is a old rag, microfiber cloth, q-tips, and some machine or paintball oil (do not use lube, collects debris). Strip the marker, run it through or soak the parts in hot water for a minute or so to dislodge any gunk set the pieces out on a towel or rag and dry using the q-tip to get dirt from the nooks and crannies, oil liberally so everythings slick and reassemble tightly, but careful not to overtighten screws.
ACCURACY
Bore size is key, the phantom has a larger bore, so stay away from smaller bored brands such as marballizer and most tournament paints. However i have had great luck with Draxxus's Xball series. Silver seems to work perfectly, gold can sometimes be a bit finicky, and on the small side, and bronze is great for a great price, but strays a bit to much. Otherwise, it all depends on you. The more compact lighter marker, does increase your abilities to aim and snapshoot. But its light weight makes it prone to barrel drift. and the slow rate of fire makes you aim and work for your shots instead of the classic spray'n'pray.
WEIGHT
Light as a feather, compared to any standard marker, which makes it great for long scenario games or speedball where agility is key.
EFFICIENCY
A well broken in and lubed phantom can easily get between 30-40 shots per 12gram cartridge. Which is excellent in my opinion.
CONCLUSION
If your looking for a little more challenge in your game, a reason to get face to face with your opponents. Or are looking for something to increase your snapshooting and aggressiveness, this is the gun for you. It's a tough marker that will give you thousands of days of reliability, if you treat it with respect. I highly recommend it! But i must warn you, once you go stockclass..you may never go back.

Looks-Its a pump, theres nothing that really sets it appart in the looks department.
Reliability- I play front/snake, and this thing gets beat up, but still NEVER have i had to take it apart to fix, and ive had it for almost a year.
It will not break down unless you take the gun apart and put it back wrong.
Works fine in all kinds of weather.
Performance- Comes with an auto-trigger which makes it helpful for breakouts(BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE A STOCK OR ELSE YOU WILL LOSE YOUR AIM).
Everything you have heard about "ball on ball" accuracy is 100% true, once broken in(for me 500-1000 shots)it will not miss, and if it does then youve done something to change its performance and/ or havent broken it in yet.
Overall this thing will perfect your skills, so all those semi's that doubt you better watch out once you pick up a semi(of course after you been playing for a few months)

i been in love with phantoms for years. I mean years. My favorite thing about the marker is the reliability. I never had a issue, no leaking, low FPS, or chopping. the simple use of ball detents save over 100 dollars. Very performance, and efficiency. I literally have sat and shoot over a case of paint on a 20oz co2. and i highly recommended CO2 only.
Downsize, it has its limites. In stock class its not the best, YOU will clip balls from pumping too fast.

i got my 3rd phantom back in February and finally decided to make a review. i have owned quite a few pump paintball guns. 5 pump autocockers, a mvp, 2 ccms, a traccer and a old beat up carter machine pump. the phantom is a great gun right out of the box. screw in a tank or a 12 gram and go to work. the gun is light and tight. the stock barrel is extremely accurate and will not "need" to be upgraded. i 3 stock class phantoms, a stock 45 frame, a stock 45 frame vsc, and a modified stock class 45 frame vsc. i would not trade any of my phantoms for a different pump. the only real downfall to the phantom is the stroke. at first it might catch someone off guard and seem kind of rough but you will get used to it and after a little bit it seems second nature.

What's not to love about any phantom? They're ridiculously easy to maintain, very light, and just all around great pump markers. the SC phantom gets about 40 shots on a 12g, which is not bad at all. There is also a large degree of customization options so you can set it up just how you like it.
I've sold just about everything I have paintball wise, but I still have my phantom!

I loved the stock class phantoms I owned, it's a versatile platform with a variety of different setups. I ran mine on 12 grams, with the changer on the back behind the valve. The standard valve is pretty good on efficiency, around 35 shots on a 12 gram, and reasonably consistent over the chrono.
The one piece barrel that comes on the Phantom is second to none. All you need are the detent rings from the factory to have great accuracy right away. I ultimately made several changes to mine, but they were completely preference based.
The addition of a t-stock and trigger shoe, a custom one piece feed and under-cocking pump kit made the marker feel more comfortable in my hands, but are far from necessary. If you're looking for an affordable, dependable entry into pump play, the phantom is the way to go.
Stock class play takes a little practice to get used to, but it's a lot of fun and will help improve your fundamentals. The rock-and-cock mechanic, 10 round reloads, and 12 gram change make playing the Phantom an exciting experience. Pick one up if you're looking for a challenge or to get into pump play.
