I got my Lock Lids when I bought a marker off someone, so essentially they were free. In a nutshell, the Lock Lids are NOT worth the cost.

Appearance
A pod is a pod, so Lock Lids aren't much different from the rest of the competition in this category.

Performance
The greatest struggle with Lock Lids is taking them out of the harness. Many times I have had them open up on me, spilling all the paint inside. Though the design of the locking feature is cool, it makes the pod prone to opening while removing it from the harness. The size of the Lock Lid is large, another contributing factor to it opening up on accident. It also makes it a hassle to even take the pod out of the harness. Once out of the harness however, the pod does perform much better than a normal pod because it is much easier to get it open.

Reliability
As stated in performance, they have a tendency to open up and spill paint, which can definitely be hard on the wallet and in a tight situation. I don't recall ever having said problem with a regular pod.

Value
The Lock Lids are much more expensive than a regular pod. In my opinion, I would rather spend the money on getting more regular pods rather than fewer Lock Lids because replacing a broken/lost regular pod is cheaper to replace. Also, the reliability of a regular pod is much better.

Overall
Though the features of the Lock Lid are nice at times, the cons far overshadow the pros.

I got these a little over a year ago and there still working great. before i had them in a crap view loader harness cause im budget baller. in that they didnt work that well cause those harnesses are crap. But recent i upgrade to Spyder 5+4 slam pack. Now i have five dyes in the straps and 4 140 rounds in the free hanging spots. i plan on buying more and get the 140 rpunds of my pack. these things work great. I have went to slide several times and ended on hardly landing on my harness and they never broke. they have taken several hits to them either from pack shots of them being empty on the ground. they work great. if you want a pod thats tough, holds more paint than others. buy these

appearance - could only get smoke so 4/5

performance - the locking was good, but occasionally you can hit the button by accident which is just as bad as a regular pod with a crappy cap. they also are wider cuz of the bumps, so fit funny in some packs (don't slide out as easy). actually fits in my Dye Attack Pack pretty well, but they should, you know? not so good in my Valken Crusade pack. 20 or so more balls is cool. 4/5

Reliability - i haven't broken one yet, but like i said, the button is easy to hit when unpodding, so 4/5

Value - way more expensive for different and possibly better - 4/5

Pros: larger, locks, easy open
Cons: larger, can get stuck in pack
Bought a 6 pack of dye lock lids bacause a few ppl there were using them and they said they worked great. I decided to buy them and so far have not been too dissapointed. Look nice, holds 160 (accually tested it and it does hold 160), and the button works well. Are they really worth 5-6 dollars a piece, not really. But if you have extra money and you find them on sale, i would get them. they are nice to have and so far after over 100 games of running, throwing them, diving, ect, they are still in perfect condition.

the only bad thing about them is that the pods are slightly too big in older pod packs and sometimes have a tight fit. I also have had the pod slide up in the holder part of my pack and get stuck, so when i go to pull it out, nothing happens. Usuallly if i pull hard enough it will come out but twice now, in the middle of the game, i had to take my pack off, put my gun down, and force the pod out. luckily that only happens when the pod is really far up the pack.

all in all, i like the durability of the lock lids, the easy button release (just make sure you put the button where your thumb will be when you pull the pod out, so you dont have to search for the button), the extra 20-25 rounds, and the fact i have not found a way to break them unintentionally......yet
