My first gun was a 98 custom and I put a flatline on it. I could definitely shoot farther than anyone else if we were holding our guns level, but what does is put backspin on the ball. This makes it so that the ball goes straight for a while, then the backspin will finally catch the air and the ball will jump up several feet and then it will continue to go straight. so it doesn't make it more accurate on a straight line, it just makes it shoot farther.

The flatline is pretty impressive when it comes to making a long shot. I find mine to be fairly accurate aswell. Ive chopped one ball in it since ive had it but they were balls from last year so it served me right. Only dissapointing aspect would have to be when you shoot a ball it tends to curve down and up because of the backspin which can make it difficult to hit someone lying down in a rivine. other than that its a very reliable barrell for a very reliable gun.

the only problem is that sometimes the paintball curves...but the rage makes up for that...i sy yes get it...it is great for...

It does shoot further than a regular barrel; however it may not matter. Normally the ball slows down enough that it doesn't break. While the ball may go 30 extra yards, only 10 of those are effective.
The mechanisms also makes the bore larger, decreasing accuracy and efficiency.
The fitting into the barrel is fairly genius, but make sure it is installed properly, or you'll be chopping all day.
Unless you want to play sniper, get something else.

Tippmann Sports Flatline Barrel (Custom 98)Really accurate barrel at long distance.. found it to be a bit choppy at times but that also was dependent on the type of paint I was using.
makes my bullets go like 5 times as far and i look like a BA when i shoot kids with it

Tippmann Sports Flatline Barrel (Custom 98)i put the flatline on over a year ago and i wont use any other barrel. I have never had any paint problems and you wont if you set to a little lower fps. I highly recommend this barrel for anyone....
i put the flatline on over a year ago and i wont use any other barrel. I have never had any paint problems and you wont if you set to a little lower fps. I highly recommend this barrel for anyone. If your having paint problems try droping your fps to about 270 to 275. I used it at a senario game last april and had a ref re chrony me on the field because he couldnt believe the distance i was getting.
