A classic model of the Spyder series. Not in age, but in strictly simple operation and use. A simple screw adjusts the FPS, there are only a few parts to lube up, and you're ready to go. Manual, low rate of fire, but that's to be expected. Grab one of these for cheap and a decent barrel and you're ready to go. Works as advertised. Great for beginners! Recommend that you pick up a decent electronic hopper to prevent chops.

This is a very good gun for a beginner. If you don't want to spend too much and need a gun this is a great choice. It is not the best by far but I seriously think that this is probably the best mechanical gun for under $100. It is quite accurate, doesn't chop much, and is pretty reliable and does not require much maintenence.
Suggestions: I suggest that when you get this gun you should tighten all of the screws on the gun with an allen wrench. Or else the screws will come loose during a game and then you have a problem, although it is cheap to replace you should tighten the screws probably every 5 times you go paintballing, because after all this is a powerful gun and the screws do get loose. Another suggestion is a longer barrel. Like any marker the stock barrel is not that great, 9 1/2 inch isn't the best.

I love my Sonix. It never chopped within the 5 hours of play and 1500 balls the first day I used it. The rate of fire was adequate if not perfect at the speed my fingers were moving. I had some ball jams in the hopper but hey its a gravity feed. The overall look and red matte color was perfectly fine (although there's a dark titanium matte finish out there).Nothing too fancy, the matte red finish and design looked much better than the Tippman all black Custom 98 I was looking at too. I guess you can say its a little on the loud side but when you're playing at a big paintball park it really doesn't matter, there are sounds coming from every direction from people shouting to the pure adrenaline thats clouding your ears. I guess accuracy could be better too but I'll find out once I get a barrel upgrade from the stock 9.5 inch.
I just bought a CP One Piece Barrel 14'' in dust red (hard to find) to match the gun. So I guess finding color coordinated add ons a bit harder to find. I'll be using it again in a few days at Jungle Island so hopefully I'll be able to see what its worth in reliability.
Overall:
Great gun, great price, and great reliability. Perfect gun for anyone thats not a tournament player I guess. Hope my review helped those neurotic/paranoid buyers out there, considering Im once since I researched the hell out of this gun before buying it.

Kingman Group Spyder Sonixi have had this gun fr a few months and i think its a good guna but i would invest in a new barrel before you compete. It shoots wildly when you chop but it almoce never chops.

I've had this gun for a little while and am pleased with it. It was only $99 and it came with gun, mask, hopper, and co2 tank. It is pretty accurate, but they have it to where the hopper sits directly on the middle (some tipmanns(they're okay) have the hopper off set so you can look down the sights) so you can't really aim . It's loud, but most mech. guns are anyways, so i'd reccomend getting a longer barrel. Also (learn the design before you do this), I'd reccomend switching the trigger spring to make it more loose (BUT NOT TOO LOOSE!!!!), which is what i did to make it possible to use the double trigger . I haven't had it chop yet, and all in all, it's a reliable and good gun, especially for starters.

Ive been paintballing for quite a while now and Ive used a lot of guns. My friend recently started paintballing and he was on a budget so I went with him to the store and told him to get a mech. gun. He chose the sonix cause it came in a pack and the next day we went paintballing. I lent him my gun and I tried out the sonix. Let me tell you this gun is a great starter gun. Its easy to use and reliable unlike alot of other guns.
Pros:
1. Great starter gun
2. Cheap
3. Reliable
4. Easy to use
5. Doesn't chop paint(atleast for my friend)
Cons:
1. Short barrel
2. Loud
3. Pretty heavy
4. Inaccurate
I mean I think this is one of the best starter guns you can get I depeneds on you. Overall its a good gun I mean you can fix about of the cons. I recamend this for starters even though I know you starters want to use electric guns off the bat.

Bought this as my first gun, haven't had anything go wrong with it yet. Got it with the value pack, pretty good deal.
I've probably put 1500 balls through, had few breaks. Reason for the breaks was my gravity hopper couldn't keep up. I believe a good electronic hopper will allow you to shoot as fast as you want without any or few breaks every case or two.
It's a pretty plain gun, not much to it. Easy to clean, takes about 3-5 seconds to pop out the bolts and spring. And about 10-20 to put it all back.
The feel of the grips are fine. But, 30%-40% of the edges aren't even touching anymore.
Overall, its a good starting gun.
EDIT: Went to put a drop forward and macroline kit on, and I found it that Spyders use a metric thread(10mm, 1.25 pitch). So I put $10 extra bucks in it to get all that hooked up, then it started leaking. Other than that, there haven't been any other notable problems.

I bought this marker a few weeks ago. The day I bought it I went home and shot around with it. I liked how the gun felt and how fast it shot. There was just one small problem, it was extremely inaccurate, I couldn't hardly hit any targets further than 7 or 8 feet away. I took it down to the local Paint ball fields and played with it the entire day. I only could hit 2 players that day (I average twice as much in a single game). If you buy this marker GET A BETTER BARREL. I would also recommend using compressed air instead of CO2.
