very nice velcro all over. and the hinge feature is also nice, though i am used to just blindly sticking pods in when i had a liquid. overall 5 stars

Empire Hinge Pack SEI picked up one of these about 6 years back for dirt cheap. I have yet to fidn a better pack, and still use it today.

Pros: Very comfy. It seems to form to your back, especially with 2-3 pods.
Smallest, most compact frame. It gets smalller as you remove pods.
Playing speedball and need every second to count? Perfect match.
Cons: The "+" straps feel awkward with pods. They won't slip out, but they
feel loose.
If you're playing in the woods, I wouldn't recommend this. I've done it,
but looking for your pods afterwards sucks.

I bought this pack because my nXe elevation ripped on the pod holder seam. I could send it to nXe but I cant be down a pack for a weekend so I bought this for the hell of it.
I have three things that I can gripe about but aren't that big of a deal that I would discourage anyone from buying it The first gripe is if you decide to take the pack off to chill in the middle of practice it can be awkward reattaching the pack if it is full of paint. The weight of the pods will want to "unhinge" itself from the velcro if you dont hold the strap while your reattaching it. Again, no big deal but this is a review. The next gripe is Im used to nXe style packs that have the straps that hold the pods in place. The pods do not move during play but sometimes Im paranoid that I could accidently open a lid during a dive or something like that if the tab hits my ***. I try to keep the tabs pointed outward but Im still paranoid especially when I have pods on the outside layer. My last gripe is I think they should have put more velcro on the outside belt because if I was any bigger (6'1", 200 lbs) the belt wouldnt not be as tight as I like it and it might wobble during running.
Overall the pack looks great. I like how it collapses with each pod you take out and xball players know how much an extra inch will help on pack shots. Feel free to pm me with any other questions.
Only reason I gave it 4 stars for value is because I think all paintball gear is sickeningly over priced. /end rant

I love this pack. It's comfortable and looks sick. However-and if someone knows how to fix this please PM me-when I go sometimes the packs fall out and my paint then breaks. What annoys me is that I'll be playing an intense game and i'll look around for a pod and half of them will be on the ground behind me with all of the paint cracked. I try to fit them in the tightest pockets, but they sometimes still fall out.
But, even though it has a little design flaw, it's still a great pack. Couldn't complain!

The Empire Hinge Pack is a unique pack. There is no more need to take of your pack to refill, just swing it to the front to reload then swing it back and secure it with high grade velcro. This decreses the time you need to spend reloading, and doesnt take up the whole 2 minutes inbetween matches. This pack was designed for rough XBall Play. There is a rear no strech pod cover to protect your pods from falling out. The Hinge is so light weight and so slim, you dont even know your wearing it. The amazing thing about this pack is its collapsible design. When you pull out 1 pod, it shrinks allowing your other pods to stay in your pack secure and ready to play. There are No-Slip rubber pads to insure this pack doesnt move or twist during play. And finally a air mesh to insure you do not overheat, and gives you more circulation.
Overall this is a great harness. Holds you pods securley and tightly. No worries about your pods falling out with its unique shrink technology. And comes with many other great features. I give this pack a and a because this is just an amazing pack. I have been playing with it now for a little bit, and i LOVE it more than my fast pack. GO BUY ONE!!!

Empire Hinge Pack SEI love this harness. It is somewhat hard to reach some of the pods though espically the middle ones. It's lightweight and doesn't bounce and it was only $30 so it was well worth it.

Empire Hinge Pack SEthis is an alright podpack its a little hard to get the lock lids out of the pack pretty comfortable when you get it broken in
because this is just an amazing pack. I have been playing with it now for a little bit, and i LOVE it more than my fast pack. GO BUY ONE!!!
