Pros: Fast, Sleek, UL Barrel Stock
Cons: Heavy, Big compared to newer models
Ok, I bought my DM5 used off of this site. It came all stock w/ a UL Frame which is amazing. The appearance of the gun was pretty good. I liked the milling and the sleek design. I just thought it was kind of big and bulky compared to the DM6/7/8's they have out now. As for the performance it was amazing. The UL barrel is very accurate and the UL frame is so thin and the trigger on it is very nice. The only problem I had with my DM5 was the reliabiliy. When i first got it i aired it up and it leaked. I went and changed all the orings in it before i got it to stop leaking which was a pain. When i took it to the field this thing was tearing up. After about 5 games broken paint got in the breech and on the bolt and it began to leak again. Taking it apart at the field was a pain too since you have to take about the whole bolt but after I did that and relubed it all it worked fine. The value of it was great. For $250 I dont think you can get a much better gun.

Pros: still a great marker
Cons: not very efficient on air
I purchased the marker on E bay for $150. When I received it there was a small leak. This being my first marker and I am experienced with fixing other things I tried my hand at figuring it out myself. It took me all of 10 minutes to take it apart without a manual and found the leak (solenoid gasket). If all DM's are as easy to work on as this I will definitely be upgrading to a newer model sometime in the near future.

Even at about 8 years old people at the field told be that was one of the best shooting and quietest markers they have seen.

let me start out by saying i have played paintball for over 4 years and had my fair share of guns, and this one has to be my favorite. ive never once had a problem with it, it shoots super fast, consistent, and QUIET!!!although it is heavier than most guns made, at least now, that weight is not necessarily a bad thing becuz it prevents kick. so when i shoot, i never have to worry about my gun moving up slightly, like the newer dm's. over great marker, would recommend to anyone...

Cons: Maintenance
Haven't owned one in years but at the time I remember this gun transitioned me from a timmy to a matrix believer. Probably irrelevant now as times have changed but I remember my DM5 being the most trust worthy and dependable gun I ever owned. Occasionally I'd have problems with o-rings but as long as I regularly maintained the gun it was flawless and extremely consistent. I would pick one back up in a heart beat.

Cons: Weight
This was by far my favorite gun out of all the ones i've owned, i'd even shoot it over an Ego (and yes, i've shot and owned one, just not my cup of tea). My DM5 was a red/black fade with the virtue chip, CP on/off, and a hyper 3 reg. It was without a doubt the smoothest and best shooting marker i've ever shot. The only problem with this marker is the weight, but a little custom milling could help that. Highly recommended marker.
