When I first started with my Ion, I had a Powerlyte Sceptor barrel kit with it and it made my marker shoot like money. When I sold my Ion and picked up an Ego, I had to sell my Sceptor kit due to the differnt threadings. On my search for a new barrel kit for my Ego, I found out that the Empire Revolver Kit is the same exact thing as the Powerlyte Sceptor Kit and somebody was selling a kit on a local forum. I bought it from the guy and never had any regrets.
Pros:
1. Bores lock into place.
2. All bores and front have a nice glossy finish
3. Pretty much cleans itself out if you have a good paint/bore match
4. Has a good variety of bore sizes. (.684, .688, .690, .692, .696)
Cons:
1. Needs a smaller bore size (.682) instead of .696. I don't think there was ever a time when I used the largest bore size.
2. Only comes in all gloss black. But you can contact Powerlyte for different color fronts since they are the same exact barrel.

As many know the most important modification to ANY marker is a barrel kit. Proper paint/bore match is integral to peak efficiency and the most accurate shots. I found an A/C threaded empire revolver kit at my local store on sale, so I bought it, not knowing what to expect. I had seen them online, and I knew the features, but I wanted to try it myself. The first thing I noticed was how light it was. No, it's not as light as say a DW, but it's certainly lighter than most other barrel kits that use inserts. The inserts load into the barrel back from the front, and slide easily into place, no forcing them in like other kits. Once in place, the front screws on. The back edge of the barrel front has a taper, so that when it's screwed all the way in it aligns the bore.. keeping it from rocking or moving at all. The barrel looks great on any marker, and looks similar to an EGO shaft kit. For the price I paid there is no beating it...

This barrel looks really nice. It has a nice gloss black anno job and doesn't have anny flaws in the anno job out of the box.
performance
This is a very accurate barrel. Has a good amount of porting and quiets down my EGO a lot.
Reliability
Always works well and self cleans pretty good as well. No complaints
Value
Worth every penny and I could sell it and get a good bit of money back. I'm very happy with my decision to buy this barrel.
Pros
Comes with 5 inserts, and they lock into place. Has every bore size you really need.
Weight is really nice. very light for an aluminum barrel.
Cons:
None!!
I really like this barrel. It performs with the best of them, and it has tight tolerances.
I'd give this barrel a 10 out of 10.

Well I was in Empire tent out at the PSP River City Open and I just had to ask about this barrel. After telling them I needed two (twins ftw) they told me they would sell them for $75 75 DOLLARS EACH! With a price lower than the Freak, and with quality control that blows nearly every other barrel out of the water, I just couldn't pass this offer up.
After watching a few more games, we headed home to test our new Revolvers out. So we gassed up our Ions, threw our new barrels on and headed out into the back. We measured out 100 feet from our target, took a few shots. We were extremely disappointed, the spread of the Revolvers was about 15 inches! Not at all what we expected, we thought they would shoot much better... And then my brother pointed out that there was no o-rings on the backs of the barrels, causing them to shake a lot when we shot them. We took the o-rings off of our stock barrels, and threw them on our Revolvers. We loaded our guns each with another pod and started to blast away at our target, the result? A 5 inch spread. 5 inches! Without the o-ring these barrels just can't preform, but add the much needed o-ring and your gun becomes more like a laser, hitting whatever you want, when ever you want.
At the field
About a week later we headed out to the local XBall field with our new barrels to see how much it would effect our game. It was amazing how much it helped. Off the break, you can shoot across field with only a 10 inch spread, making an impenetrable lane, and hit someones pack on your first try. Also if you find someones hopper is sticking out, you no longer have to hope the 20+ shots you sent towards them got a lucky hit, you know that if you send 5 towards them, they WILL be hit.
Conclusion: We were a little disappointed that Empire didn't provide an o-ring with the kit. Good thing our stock barrels did though. All in all it's an amazing barrel, by far the best I have ever used.

the empire barrel kit is one of the best barrels i have every used. the only down side i can think of is that the bore sizes are almost all going up in size for bigger paint, but i play alot of winter woods ball and in the winter balls shrink and i think the kit should have had more smaller bore sized inserts,
besides that the kit is flawless, looks sick, and performs

So far I really like this barrel kit. I use it on my Imagine 04 and PMR(got a autococker back from Powerlyte). Not one barrel break since I started using it (knock on wood). Does everything a good barrel kit should do. Increased accuracy and efficiency. I also like the way the inserts lock into place. Very good fit. Fairly light too. I would recommend it. By the way if you can't find one it's the same thing as a Powerlyte 07' Scepter kit.

This thing shoots ball on ball, and the inserts lock into place so they can't move or get misplaced while playing. The only bad thing people don't like is that there is no insert between .684 and .688, but I just either use .690 for premium and .684 for DXS, and they are both perfect fits.

This barrel performs just as well as any other in the price range... like an ultralight with interchangeable bores. Its a very nice kit, and is relatively cheap. You can get lighter barrels, but if you want to stick with an aluminum kit, go with the Empire.
