I received my eVLution 3 as part of a package deal with my Mini and tank, so it is difficult to estimate an exact price. The loader is okay. It feeds fast enough for most practical purposes (23 bps is comparable to stock Halo B 22-25 BPS) and is easy to operate. The distinctive body style may or may not appeal to everyone. Ball capacity is good (~200). It is fairly loud, but not obnoxious. Battery efficiency is good (uses 1 9v). Dissassembly is fairly easy, but reassembly is more difficult.
In use, I found it did it's job, but sits a bit higher than I would have liked. The shape causes it to be a bit back heavy, but I didn't find that to be noticeable on the field. The shape is rounded, which could result in some deflections/bounces, but I didn't notice this in play. Durability seems good, but it is just plastic after all, so certainly not invincible! Some reviews seem to take issue with the battery door, but I had no problems with it.
What is an issue is the feed door. The snap open design is a neat idea, but the plastic retaining lip wears pretty quickly and then has trouble staying locked open. Since I don't want to use two hands to reload in the middle of a game, this was a problem. I understand that some players have made speed loaders that address this, but I was very disappointed with the stock lid.
Since they are now relatively cheap, I would recommend this for a cash strapped player. However, mine has been relegated to a backup as I now use a VLocity Jr. with Gangstar chip.

the hopper is large enoughto accomodate most filling on field without wasiting balls,
the feed rate is not as fast as other loaders, but fastenough for what most need.
the hoppers matriel does have some weak points in the structure, be wary while handling,
other than that a cheap alternative that offersalot of performance for a little price.

This loader feeds at a pretty good rate and has never broke paint on me before. It's also pretty cheap so it's good for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of money (like me). But now for the bad. It's very back heavy (since the entire loader is towards the back of the feedneck). It also jams a lot if you shoot and stop a lot. If you have a slower shooting gun though, this hopper will work fine

i used to have one of these on my PMR and my Epiphany a while ago. They kept up well with both of them but, they aren't really that fast shooting guns. You will never have a ball fall out of this thing. It is kind of hard to open the lid while your playing because it almost takes two hands. I would reccomend this to you if your gun is shooting under 20bps because any faster than that, and i don't think it could keep up. It's also pretty loud. I know it was almost as loud as my epiphany.

This loader is the same thing as the egg 2 but it has a part that keeps the battery door from breaking off and i think they all come with the z-board.
PROS: Feeds fast. Battery life! you can keep batteries in for months and they won't die. High capacity, hold a lot of paint
Cons:
weird lid design i just never like the lid much. POOR shells as with most all VL products.
the z-board keeps spinning for a few seconds when it senses paint moving in the feedneck which is good for speed but i've seen overfilled loaders turn into blenders a few times.

This is a good entry level electronic hopper for woodsball or rec speedball. I used it on a 98 ACT and then an ION XE. It worked well for both and I never had trouble with it feeding or running out of juice. I don't shoot real fast but this never had trouble keeping up. I did put my ION on full auto once to test it out and it seemed pretty fast.
The main problems with it are that it is hard to clean and that it is hard to fill. There are 6 or 7 screws that need removed to take it apart and the wires are difficult to stuff back in. The worse part is that the screw heads all face out the right side of the shell. So for a right handed player any hopper fits are likely to junk up the holes. The lid is spring loaded which makes it tough to fill one handed. I was able to take out the springs so the lid would not snap shut on me. I then used some resin to build up the lip that is supposed to hold the lid open as It would not stay open while I filled it. After those two mods, it worked great. If no one else has this problem, maybe I just got a defective one.
The batteries would last for several cases assuming I took them out between my monthly paintball excursions. The noise is not too bad either. For the price it is great. I have since upgraded as I got more money to spend. This is now my loaner.
