Pros: Incredibly light weight, ability to swab
Cons: Orings can cause inserts to wobble
Appearance: Carbon fiber and a small metal collet. It barely weighs anything. Don't worry about the looks with this one.

Performance: Amazingly accurate would be an overstatement as I had to change the orings to keep things in check. Still a good barrel though but mine seems to come with a defect from machining.

Reliability: Being carbon fiber, they are strong and light weight. Never had a problem with fit.

Value: These barrels are a little on the pricey side, but to have an all around good barrel system you are going to pay for it. You can also purchase a case from Deadlywind to keep the barrel and inserts safe.

DeadlyWind Carbon Fiber Barrel Kit
Initially I wanted a freak barrel. I found this though and was immediately attracted to the light-weight and extremely durable nature of carbon fiber. I am familiar with metals, materials, and machining and I knew from the description that this barrel was probably going to be close to razor accurate (as far as Paintball goes ) so I went ahead an bought the barrel!
Appearance:
Cool looking packaging, actual barrel comes in a plastic tube case, the bore master kit from Freak comes with its own black hard case, there IS a space to put the 14" barrel in the Freak Case! The actual barrel is quite simple looking from a geometric perspective; it's just a Carbon Fiber Tube that has been molded to a black aluminum back piece that has the threading and two DeadlyWind "D" gems glued on either side. The actual texture of the barrel almost feels like plastic (trust me, it's extremely durable), the barrel is noticeably lighter than any other Aluminum barrel. The actual design, if I can say that, is a carbon fiber wrap that cascades down the barrel in a downward circular pattern. At the same time it almost looks like little checkered squares going down the side. It is a very cool looking barrel artistically, but quite simple in terms of milling; that's because it is Carbon fiber, you don't get much playing room with a good carbon fiber barrel!

TL;DR Sleek, Sexy, Light, Durable, Simple, Carrying Case is nice.

Performance:
Do you overbore? or Underbore? The real question is; Does it matter? Nope! because you have every bore size you can imagine. The freak inserts give this barrel multiple purposes and makes it extremely versatile and useful. I could match paint easily and as the day went on, I could change inserts to make sure the paint was going splat exactly where I wanted it. The actual bore size doesn't affect accuracy that much, if not at all, so the actual barrel is very accurate and was made very well. This particular barrel used to be called "Whisper" which, obviously, implicated that this changed the sound signature of your marker making it quieter. In all honesty I did not see that big a difference, this barrel DID change the sound signature and make it a little quieter with my stock G4, but actual sound change comes from operating pressure and the bolt system. The barrel made my gun noticeably efficient, and I could shoot more on a tank fill than before, which is always nice for longer games.

TL;DR Accurate, Efficient, Changed sound signature a litte, allows user to match paint perfectly all through the day

Durability:
I made a separate section for this because, and I don't know how it happened, some people think that a carbon fiber barrel is weak in some respects. I have no idea how that idea came about, But I am going to clear everything up about carbon fiber and carbon fiber barrels. Carbon Fiber is several times lighter than Aluminum and several times stronger than steel in one direction. Which means that the fiber will have all those attributes if strained or pulled on in that one particular direction, otherwise it takes on the strength of some weaker aluminum. Which, imo, is still impressive. The way the barrel is designed is that they weave fibers in different directions around the mold of the barrel (which is the inside and usually a different metal) that way everything is reinforcing itself give the barrel the attributes of material lighter than aluminum and stronger than steel all the way through. You can drive your car over the barrel and still shoot it. It's all held together with incredibly strong epoxy resin. This stuff is used on formula one race cars and airplanes. If you think you can abuse and put those materials under more stress on an airball field than on an airplane or formula one race car...you belong in a record book.

Pros:
-Light
-Very Strong
-Versatile
-Accurate
-Efficient
-Carrying Case is a +1 because you can store you stuff safely
-I like the simple look

Cons:
-Pricey! it was $143 for the whole kit! Holy Crap!
-Inserts are a little tight fitting, some of the anno on the insert got scratched
-Kit comes with Aluminum inserts, SS ones are sold separately

I've used a variety of barrel kits and this is one barrel that I will be using for a while, until something blows me out of the water like this has. I've used both 12 and 14 inch barrels and the 12 just seems to be the right choice for me. If your looking for a light, reliable, accurate and freak "insertable" barrel, look no further the DW Fibur barrel will get the job done.

Lets start off with the fact that these barrels are indeed great shooters!
They're extremely light thus offering you an easily pointed marker (depending on your setup ofcourse).

They use freak inserts which are obviously available in heaps these days.

The only drawback to these are that they do make the setup feel a tad back heavy which can be negative for some depending on personal tastes.

pros: very accurate, very light, very sick look.

cons: 1 semi con is that it doesnt come with a barrel bag/cover/protector. it comes in a plastic wrap which you will tear open and is useless for keeping it protected in your bag. i would suggest you buy a barrel bag, i use an old pool stick case to keep both my barrels safe, yes its big but i dont worry about them getting scratched or messed up.

buy directly from deadlywind, 1. this supports the company's growth, etc. 2. collin is a super cool guy to talk to about the product, he will answer any question you have about any of his products.

i bought 2 of these barrels and 3 of the inserts, i put one on my wife's mini (14" version) and one on my epiphany (16" version) and they both shoot excellent. my only regret is going with the 16" for my epiphany, its really a lot longer than i thought it would be, i should have went with a 14", but oh well.

Pros: Sleek, Sexy, and Effective
Cons: New, with the inserts, can be slightly expensive
First off, this barrel is truly fantastic. Because it uses the freak inserts, it has the potential to have more bores than many other popular barrels. It has a well made carbon fiber finish that is very durable and can withstand a lot of punishment (which is good, coming from a snake player in less-than-stellar terrain!). Because of the carbon fiber, it matches or goes well with a large majority of markers, for all you players that want to look good.
However, it can be slightly pricey for some, although it is right around the range of many high-end barrel kits. While the barrel itself is only $90 new, which isn't too bad, a full freak insert kit runs $75 new (aluminum) or $110 new (stainless steel). All in all you end up paying $165-$200 for your barrel kit, which is out of the range for some recreational players compared to kits like the CP kit.
Despite this, at the end of the day my deadlywinds barrel is always in my gearbag, regardless of whether I play speedball, woodsball, or anything in between. It looks great, it's quiet, and for the price I think you get the most bore/insert options to go along with a great product. I'd recommend this barrel to people of any level, without a doubt.

This is a great barrel I have used a lot of Barrels including Freak, Stiffi kit, UL, PE, Sly kit, and many others and this one is the one I use every time I play. It cleans itself within 3 to 5 balls if you have a break, it's light, quiet, accurate, and you can swab it unlike other CF barrels. My only suggestion is to use the stainless freak inserts instead of the aluminum they are made better and don’t shrink/expand due to weather. Overall I give this barrel a 10, it is just amazing.

Geat barrel. Priced fairly well compaired to other barrels.

-Super light
-first barrel to be swabbable ( )
all CF barrels can be swabbed now
-Adjustable feak inserts(really nice with small paint b/c the dye ul 684 just cant do it sometimes)
-shoots through breaks no problem (if the paint breaks at all)
-really durable (might aquire some scratches if thrown on concrete but nothing to comprimise the barrel)
-accurate as any other high end barrel
-can modify the freak insert case to fit 14in barrel
-looks nice
-might have some "smear or scratch" looking imperfections when looking down the barrel one way but as long as you dont see it when looking both ways, there is nothing to worry about. (just something underneath the layers of whatever they use inside the barrel)
-full price of barrel plus full freak=150ish
-great barrel and usually use it over my dye ul(except when i need a 16in), one for looks, weight, same accuarcy (so why would i not use the lightest and never really needs cleaned out), and does quite your gun a bit
-nice size control bore(inserts) compaired to other barrels

cons;
-lenght not adjustable
-only get 2 stickers when you order (lol, if any1 thinks this is a con, you need to check yourself)
