if youre mechanically inclined, pick one up now. if not, get an ego. they shoot amazingly, feel GREAT, and are easy to maintain if you have a brain for mechanics. theyre actually very simple inside, and the poppit is VERY easy to access, as opposed to stacked poppit designs (ego/timmy/legend etc..). im in love with mine ( i actually have a darq, but its the same thing and there is no darq review forum).

in short: if you are smart, get one. if you dont know dick about guns, pass it up and let one of us take it .

I got my Closer about two weeks ago and am in love. It is very light, quick, etc. It is everything you need in a high-end and more! The 4-eye system is amazing. It also comes stock with a Tadao M8 board. It is ready for tournament play right out of the box! One of the bad things about it is there is a lot of maintenence(sp). Other then that, this gun gets a 10/10 in my book!

Cons: not a lazy man's gun maintenance wise
Start off with this is my favorite marker I have ever owned. Super light, comfortable, and fast. Decent on air consumption if set right. Shoots amazing ropes, with great accuracy. Has Tadao from the get go! Only downfall to this platform is that it does require a little maintenance, and if you mess something up with the LPR you need a guage to set it correctly. However, maintenance is straight forward, and takes 10 minutes tops after a day of paintball.

Pros: Efficiency, Quiet, Accuracy, Tadao, Feedneck
Cons: Tadao, Feedneck, Rail, LPR
First Impressions:

This Marker is my Eleanor ... meaning I want it to work so bad but it just never ever works 100% for more an entire day ... they shoot amazing, look great, and feel like butter in your hands .. Since day 1 of BNIB no dice

Performance:

Weight- feels heavy but it is milled on purpose to make the marker balanced with a hopper and tank. Still feels slightly heavy though

Barrel Rise- Almost no Barrel rise and vibration, which makes holding your rope and lane insanely EZ ..

Trigger- I hate the double old school shape.. switch with a blade trigger or Violent (Darq) .. yes it is nice

Accuracy- Assassin barrel sucked with the Alias, and it sucks now .. the 2 piece is better but definitely not as good as a UL, SP, Sly, Redz, etc...

Pillow bolt- DON'T DRY FIRE .. I already know but might as well include 411 for others ... pillow works great!!! Just as good as A1 or Eclipse bolt. They also sell them for Ions. FYI

Speed- Fastest marker I have ever shot

ASA- the CAM is a good unique ASA ... I like it a lot and HATE the fact that you have to use a Rail ... it just makes the gun taller in profile .. Replace with a XPRESS (IMHO best ASA out)

Feedneck- not clamping!!! for $1250 MSRP ..but it sits really low so I'll live with it.

Reg- +/- 5 which is norm of high ends but seems to have many problems with brass poppit ..They replaced some regs Brass parts with a SS and it works more consistently now

Board- It is a TADAO!!! Great move by BL .. has great modes and everything you could want. Except, I don't like TADAO .. For a guy that has owned over 12 Tadao boards .. I get no respect from them when asking a question, getting upgrades, fixing a wire, whatever ... still respect them and Will though no matter what.

Maintenance:

People think this part is difficult. Actually, it is a blessing in disguise. When you take out the ENGINE .. it is everything unlike stacked tubes where taking the poppit out is sometimes difficult and a pain. The trade off is setting the LPR requires a tool. There is one oring in the poppit that is difficult .. Just a little dow and some tri flow .. you are good .. VERY SIMPLE after the first time.

Manual:

Now here comes the FTL part ... NO MANUAL ... so how do you know to do this and that ... unless you read the stickies (which about everyone skips and posts a problem) or don't use PBN? How long has the Marq been out? I haven't seen a NIB manual for it or the Protege!! definitely bad

Reliability:

Here comes my Rant .. This marker always leaks .. has been teched by BL at 2 events ... Turn around time on a marker from BL is about 4 wks from experiences with teams guns, my guns, to friends guns. Getting an update on their status is difficult.

HOWEVER the service and repair done is definitely one of the highest grades in the industry and may or may not be worth the wait depending on your backup. I hear it is one guy that is horribly overworked. .. I LUV YOU JOE

If you go to an event (PSP,NPPL) they fix it quickly for you .. bc they know working equipment counts .. I think in Chicago they fixed my player's Marqs twice in less than 10 minutes .. that was some brutal weather/mud ...

Conclusion:

Don't let my horror story scare you from getting one.
If you find one that works .. definitely a great gat and would be my favorite if it worked .. Get the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT UPGRADE IN ALL OF PAINTBALL "TALL T" then a New barrel and Xpress ASA it feels and shoots great. There is a reason why many of my teammates SWEAR BY THEM.

Subjective:

I recommend this maker to players who have owned a high end before so that they are more knowledgeable in handling it. I personally am not a huge BL fan and still think it shoots better than most markers.. Don't ever get on the techs' bad side .. which I might/might not be after they read this. You can pick up a Marq 6 for around $400, and you won't be disappointed.

Pros

+Tadao, QD Ram, and Pillow Bolt Stock
+Did I mention it was comfortable

Cons
-It's a great marker... when it works
-Maintenance... Not as bad as I originally thought but still...

The way I think of the Closer, is as an efficient DM. Which should be an absolutely killer marker right? Well it is most absolutely the best shooting (and best looking) marker I've ever shot (and I have shot everything in the 07 and 08 line).

But it goes down... a lot. I have seen Marq owners that don't have this problem, but I do seem to have that effect on markers lol.

So... If you're a good tech and have that "magic touch" with markers... GET A CLOSER!!! But if you have the "evil touch" like me, steer away.
