I bought this gun for $599.00 but it came with the star frame. The star frame is a real pain in the *** to intall but after you do it properly it is worth it. The etek2 is a very fast gun as it is but after a while you get bored of the LED's. get the star and you won't regret.
NOW THE ETEK
the gun is unbelieveably nice. If you get the upgrades for it, it will be a ego8. the asa is one of the best out there. the barrel is extremly accurate. The feedneck can be better but at least its clamping. also it wouldn't hurt if the bolt was the cure2. the reg is nice. ive seen a few blow out on people but im not sure if that was due to poor care. # 1 thing you should always do it oil and clean your gun after each use. it will make the lifetime of the marker a WHOLE LOT LONGER. planet eclipse is probebly the best company out there and is making amazing products. If your looking to get a high end marker and the ego is too much go for the etek2. you will not regret your choice.

Paid $450 for her used. Fantastic marker. Simple maintenance, just give her air and paint and she'll rip. Very nice build quality, has a very solid feel, and with a 45/45 crossy and my Evo3 on it its balanced damn near perfect. The stock board is also very easy to adjust, and all adjustments can be made without having to remove the grips. Even the non-regular maintenance (cleaning and lubing the regs etc..) is rediculously easy. It wouldn't take me more then 5-10 minutes to clean and lube the HPR, LPR, and rammer.
The only gripes I ever hear about Ego's is that their loud and they kick. Yes, they are a touch loud, they have a distinctive crack, but I love it. I kinda got sick of the "sput, sput, sput" of spool valves. As far as "kick", yes, you can actually feel this marker cycle when it shoots. Thats it. Does not screw up your accuracy or make the gun jump out of your hands. "Kick" is such a load of crap in PB, I've shot nearly every marker made for the last 12 years of my PB experience, never once had a gun that "kicked" enough to have any affect on my game. You wanna talk about kick, go shoot a double barrel 10 gauge with deer slugs, I guarantee that will solve any kick issues you may have with a PB marker.
Anyways, if your looking for a gun that can run with anything, that shoots and looks like a gun that should cost $1000 + buy an Etek2. It shoots fantastic straight from the box.

Planet Eclipse Etek2Been playing with a Smart Parts Epiphany for the past 2 years. Finally upgraded my marker to an Etek2 from Planet Eclipse.
My first reactions were, wow...nice box, black and white and very stylish,...
Solid Construction, Great Milling, Eclipse Quality
Cons:
Grip is a tad thick, not to fond of the stock ASA
Been playing with a Smart Parts Epiphany for the past 2 years. Finally upgraded my marker to an Etek2 from Planet Eclipse.
My first reactions were, wow...nice box, black and white and very stylish, keeping with the PE tradition of style. I open her up and everything is in its place in a nice padded case. the body, the two piece barrel, o-rings, oil, and the barrel condom.
i assemble the marker, and gave it a feel. It was fantastic. lighter than the Epiphany, and felt way more solid. I wasnt used to how thick the grip was, but it is not a huge difference, it was just different from what i was used to.
I pulled a few shots, and immediately had to adjust the trigger. once it was set how i liked it. she felt awesome.
Put the barrel together, and on the marker. hopper on, tank on, and she still felt lighter than my previous marker. I gassed her up, and listened for leaks and didnt hear any. GREAT! put in a pod, and proceeded to rip a few out.
no chops, straight out of the box, no shoot down, nothing. all i have are good things to say about this marker
all in all, great upgrade from any lower end markers, and is very comparable to the higher end. Also planet eclipse has made many upgrades available to this marker, so as one can upgrade it to the equivalence of the ego08's and some say the SL8R's. but dont hold me to it.
Solid construction, great milling, light-weight, easy maintenance, and very efficient. two thumbs up!

I traded my EGO7 for an ETek2 plus cash and figured it would be a fair downgrade. Ive actually come to the conclusion that its not a downgrade at all. I got a bunch of cash with the ETek2 and it shoots just like my EGO7. It may be a bit louder and a bit heavier...but neither of these characteristics are noticeable in game. My first and only upgrade for the marker was a Cure bolt. I will not be buying another part for this gun ever. The gun just outright performs. No QEVs to go bad, no LCD to drain my battery, but everything else that Ive come to love about EGOs has remained! Excellent marker!

I have played with this marker once, along with some shooting out in the woods. I must say, I have never had a marker perform so flawlessly out of the box. Right now I have put about a case of paint through this marker without a single chop or break. I have never had that happen before. Especially since the weather was about 40 degrees.
My thoughts:
Efficiency: I feel like I can play forever on my 45/45. But I haven't played enough with it to give real efficiency numbers. (A+)
Reliability: I have not had a single leak (or any other issue for that matter) with this marker. Just like any Ego, it shoots whenever and wherever you want. It's a workhorse. (A+)
Speed: I got the Star Frame (along with the QEV, and Zick kit), and the speed is perfect. With the Star Frame trigger, I can shoot consistent strings of paint wherever I need to. And with the highly adjustable trigger, I have not had any issues with bounce. (A+)
Looks: Judge for yourself. I think it looks great. Especially with the Star Frame. No complaints there. (A+)
Comfort: With the Zick kit I notice very little kick, and I am sure that once the marker is broken in, and I can properly tune it, there will be almost none. And I highly recommend the Star Frame for comfort. The stock frame is nice, but it is definitely a bit bulky compared to the Star Frame. (A)
Overall, I highly recommend this marker to anyone. It has the superior performance of any traditional Ego, but costs much less. (A+)

Its an Ego, reliable, efficient, the best gun series on the market, nothing is more reliable, from day one Eclipse nailed it, from the 05 to the super sexy 08 to the new Etek2, its a great gun for the money, if you cant afford to buy an ego this should be your second choice. The one thing i look forward to every sunday is knowing that my gun is going to work every time, and it does. Easy EASY matinence, regs can be cleaned/lubed in 2 mins, ram takes 30 seconds, clean the eyes and your done. Get a cure bolt and a zick kit, and a VIRTUE board, the only upgrades you'll ever need!

the gun is worth every penny.
Performance: the gun doesn't seem very fast....could use some better internals.
such as more settings
faster rate of fire
full auto/psp
etc...
