This is a great idea from Dye to help put some new light into those older model guns. Helps across the board to get the weight down while adding the feel and electronics available in the newer style guns.
The ergonomics and new style grips also makes it a great addition for those looking for something that is a little bit more comfortable.
Only downside is price. Any floating around still command a good price as they are more often seen on some project gun instead of the original one they were meant for.

I used one of these with a PM6 for a while, and it was definately worth getting. The LED on the side of the grip was OK, but this is the only area for improvement in my opinion. The advantages to getting one are:
Lighter; makes the whole setup seem lighter and more balanced
Feel; the hourglass shape has a more comfortable feel, this helps a lot when using one hand to shoot and one to reload
Functional; the new button is much easier to deal with, and it comes stock with a decent amount of firing modes
Trigger; the adjustable roller bearing trigger was easy to set up, and felt great while playing
Overall I would recommend this for anyone looking to get more out of their DYE marker.
I will give it 8.5/10

Well I got sick of the huge PM7 stock frame, so I decided to upgrade to a Ultralight frame. If you can find a cheap used one, get it. Instead of paying the $200, you can get it for dirt cheap in comparision.
The feel is amazing. It takes a little bit to get used to, but it's not a bad thing. The LED is very nice, it gives you two "outputs" where you can see what the status of your gun is at (ie. Eyes on, Eyes off, etc.)
The only bad thing about this, is how the price is horrible. Definitely worth it though.

The only problem I have is there seems to be a bit of side to side movement in the trigger, but that might have just been what I used.

Dye Precision Ultralite FrameThese were great upgrades but were about 200 for upgrading a 200 gun. Other than the price it pretty much turned older matrices and proto into dm6 and was more ergonomic.

I bought this as an upgrade to my DM5 and it felt so much better than the old frame. These have a great feel and are much better for tournament play. Easy to install and easy to use. A downside is that they are normally expensive and might not be worth the cost. Great upgrade for the DM's that don't have it.

Dye Precision Ultralite FrameUL frames aren't a nessesity but they sure are a nice thing to have. The triggers are smooth and very quiet (no metal clink of the screw hitting anything). If you have the extra money Id say get one.

The UL frame is definitely a must in any gun I shoot, now that I have been using DYE guns (DM7) for the whole of last season and again for this season (DM8), I cannot even pick up another gun without it feeling weird to hold.
The hourglass shape grip is very very comfortable and I would advise you to go try one out, even holding it at the shop will be enough to make you feel the difference.
Another thing I really like is the fact that the UL model has been the same since the DM6, meaning that the boards are pretty much universal, and that you don't have to buy a new board every year, that seems to be a very rare thing in the paintball world, so a big to DYE for that.
The dual LEDs are also very useful for in game use.
All in all a great product and no undoubtedly a must in all DYE markers.

I own an ultralight frame for my STDM4 and My PM7
Description:
The UL frame is a must for me when it comes to a matrix. The feel of it is the most natural frame to me. The stock trigger is pretty good, and there are alot of good options for aftermarket triggers if i see neccessary to change. The stock board is all i need to have too. The trigger pull is smooth and easy for me, since the frame fits so well in my hand. It also makes the gun it is installed on look much better as well.
Pros:
Feel- Fits perfectly in my hand. Most comfortable frame out there IMO.
Trigger- I love the stock trigger when its set perfectly. I have an aftermarket trigger on my PM7, and i love it too. I could probably put a popsicle stick as a trigger and love it when its on an Ultralight Frame.
Cons:
None IMO.
Makes Matrixes Perfect to me. Can't shoot one without it.
