The most popular gun ever. This gun changed paintball in many diffrent ways. It made a reliable cheap paintball gun that can be upgraded to the max. With many Tippmann siblings the 98 custom revolutionized paintball still to this day.

Pros: Accuracy, cost, custamizability
Cons: Heavy, barrel, single triger, CO2 hog
This is an excellent beginner gun. At the price it is currently at I recommend it for someone going cheap.

If you actually want to consider hitting your target you need to get a new barrel though, which could add up to 80$ making it about 200-220$. So you might as well buy a better quality gun.

Appearence: UGLY. This is not a marker that is meant to look good.

Performance: OK. With a new barrel it has great accuracy with zero chops. It is missing a double trigger and needs to become lighter.

Reliability: Easy! Indesructible. An adam bomb can't destroy this thing.

Value: It's a good price. But I highly recommend saving up an buying a better marker. Even 40$ can get you a Vibe.

Other stuff: This is meant for woodsball and is extremely customizable. One thing about customizing is that it is a rip-off. Might as well buy a nicer marker than customize it.

I have had my gun for about a year now and it is a very reliable gun. It can be customized so much it is not even funny. if you are looking for a good gun to start out playing woodsball with you can't beat a tippmann. you can run a tippman off co2 or nitrogen and can be made to look like almost any asault rifle you can think of. Ofcourse it is heavy but you can buy a remote coil so you can but you co2 tank in your pod pack and you are all set. it is good on air and paint and if you have any more questions about it you can just pm me and I will be happy to help you, and if I don't know right away I can probably find out. I am sorry if the stars did not show up but I would give it a 4.5.

Pros: Good Gun with woodsball camo and a ghille
Cons: Sometmes not enough power to break balls
At some places I've played at where Tippmann 98 customs they used Hpa 3000 psi, at 15 yards plus my suit could deflect the rounds with out breaking, i called myself out at first but then a later game, after getting 12 rounds to my legs 0 breaking and being able to elimanate 3 of the 7 members of the opposing teams makes it a bit flawed with the velocity set high enough suits like mine will take a hit and break

The tippmann may be the most popular gun for noobs but any good player should never get a tippmann. i had a tippy for 4 years and every time i played it broke down or chopped paint every game. it,s the heavyiest gun out there. if you do play woodsball i'd say use a X-7 or something else.

Cons: everything
The only thing i like about it is that its a extra gun and that i can use it to shoot in my backyard and in sceniro

I would not use it in a tourney or anything because the way it look, the weight, and the slow pushing of the trigger and the gravity hopper.

But i got this gun in a trade from a freind so its good.

Pros: last forever!, low maitence
Cons: side feedneck, weight sometimes, 9 inch barrel?? y
Ok this gun is great for starters by all means, this gun is so reliable. Maitence is only put 3 drops of oil where it pops back, feedneck where it pops back, and asa.

Barrel isnt bad accuracy i seriously dont understand the 9 inch barrel i dotn think they make anotherone that is that small why 9?

I only got rid of mine for money issues bc i had a great offer on the table 175 for a tippmann 98 custom, 20 oz tank, no electronic hopper. This marker is all stock too.

I want to get into something that really eats at me about tippmann owners. Ok guys this is a tippmann no matter what you put on it its still giong to be a tippmann and eveuentally when you want to sell it you wont get near what you paid for it. If this gun is only going to be a stepping stone for you to get a new gun dont put much money at all mabe just get the flatline if you play woodsball but thats it. I got rid of mine bc i was into speedball but most importantly airball

overall i think this gun is better than spyder vs3 and every spyder but compared to an ego or dm there is no comparision is egos and dms r 10 i give this a 7 compared to all other low end guns 9/10
