I had one on my Proto Matrix 05 for a while and it did wonders, never did I have a spike or anything of that nature. Like I said, it did its job and it did it well. I have also installed some on DM's although they do not look good at all.
There are ways to check your LPR pressure if you know how to do it at home and with this method (will not say how) you can check exactly what your marker is running at. I could shoot at 20 cps and have the pressure in my LPR not fluctuate hardly at all, going from 55 +/- 1 in hot weather and 60 +/- in cold weather, that is good enough for me.
Look beyond its looks and you will notice how well it performs on your marker, it adds a bit of weight but nothing you will notice. Here are some of the things I liked about and did not like.
Reliable- It never went down on me and always kept the pressure at around +/-1 no matter the conditions I was playing in.
Easy of installation- Took me only a few minutes.
Consistant- As stated before, +/- 1 is good enough for me.
Looks- As stated before they look good in the right conditions on Proto markers, but on DM's, not so much.
I wish that STD JDS regs were made for other markers today for I would certainly buy one.

I got this LPR when I purchased a used PM5 a few years ago. I was already on it and from what I've seen so far it is very consistent. Now I did run into a problem when I first bought the marker. I put my tank into it and it started leaking from the LPR. I tried a few things but just couldn't figure it out. I called STD industries and told them about it and they recommended that I just send it to them. So I did and a few days later it was fixed. I gave them a call back to see how it progressed and the tech said that a few parts inside were missing. He had fixed it for me and shipped it back! I was very grateful and it hasn't given up on me since.
The regulator keeps up with my marker like no other.
It performs very well under fair conditions. It is very consistent under the chrono and allows my marker to shoot ropes along with my Sidewinder
Very easy to adjust with the adjustment cap.
Maintenance is simple and the website has instructions and manuals on how to do it.
The looks aren't too great but whatever. Works awesome!
I recommend this LPR if you want to upgrade from your stock one. You won't suffer any losses
