Standard Matrix Board, Fair Feedneck, Rockin' Anno
Cons:
Stiff Trigger, but nothing to complain about
You can't go wrong with this marker. It's my backup for my Dm6, and I occasionally play with the SLG on the weekends. But it's seriously the best marker a new player can start out with in the sport.
I recommend this marker to all, new or pro, you can't go wrong with it.
Only reason I paid $150, was cause I got a really good trade on it.

My friend just got his Slg in today but mines still on the way so we were out shooting it a while and for only being a 200 dollar gun all i could say was '' WOW". This thing was very fast and accurate and the only down side is that its loud but if your playing speedball its not going to matter. I would recomend this gun to anybody and if you have higher end marker go and get this as a back up.

this is a great gun for the price you have to pay for it! it is extremely cheap, and once u put a few minor upgrades on it, it works incredibly.
The first things you must get are a new feedneck, and a new trigger, if you do not get these two things the marker will be useless for you.
i also put a stiffi on it, and it shoots amazing
it is extremely light, and wiht a carbon fiber tank and a stiffi, you barelly feel like your holding anything.
the hyper 3 reg is amazing, very small, very efficient and very easy to take apart.
i dont really have much bad to say about this gun except for the stock parts, but once you upgrade all of those, which you would do on mostly any gun it turns out to be a very very good gun.
my brother had a proto rail, and in my opinion the SLG looks a lot better, and shoots alot nicer then the rail did.
overall: this is a great gun for the price, just expect to upgrade it a little. the colors are all nice, and it looks very cool upgrade. the performance and efficiency is very very good, and i would say if u put the right amount of money into the gun, it will work just as well as a $500-$600 gun would work

Well last week i my slg came in from ebay and i decided to write my review on it. The box is very small and includes everything you need to maintain the gun. It includes lube, extra orings, extra detents, barrel sock, allen keys and the manual. i reccomend lubing the bolt and turning the reg down before you air it up just as a precaution.
Do these before you air it up!
First, turn the reg down about a turn to ensure it doesnt overpressurize the gun if the reg comes set wrong. Then relube the bolt system just incase the factory did a poor job. Then read the instructions and take the asa off. Tighten the bolts underneath the asa because they WILL come loose and you will have to do it anyway. Line the asa up and put it back on. Make sure the reg is tight also. The stock battery is to fat for the frame and sucks so go buy a good duracell one. Buy a new barrel sock because the stock one isnt safe.
Performance
After i did all of these things before i aired it up i dryfired it. The gun has no "kick" what so ever dry firing. The gun is also loud dryfiring but who cares.
i dumped a whole 68/3000 tank through it to ensure the reg was a little broken in before i shot it. i bought some paint and went out to my backyard to test fire it.
Kick
The kick is very minimal and is only caused by the balls leaving the barrel.
Accuracy and Sound
With the right paint to barrel match the gun is very quiet. The accuracy depends on the paint to barrel match, quality of the paint, and consistency of the reg. The reg is very consistent mainly because it is the same one dye includes on their $1400 dm8 Over the chrono it was very consistent around +-2. with the right equipment it is as accurrate as any other marker.
Maintanence and Ease of Setup
This is probably one of the easiest markers to setup and maintain. The only settings are the input pressure,ROF and mode. Which means it is very hard to mess up the gun to where it is hard to fix. To clean the gun all you have to do is unscrew the back cap and pop the bolt out. Then just lube 4 o-rings.
Myths and Problems
Here are all of the dumb things i have heard about the gun. First the updated guns have NO problems. They dont chop or break paint. They dont randomly go full auto without paint. They only leak if setup poorly or they are lubed poorly. The mech noid doesnt make the trigger pull harder(who ever started saying this must be mentally challenged) The mech noid doesnt make this gun "low end". Automags operate with one and they are some of the best guns made as well as autocockers.
Reccomended Upgrades
Personally all i reccomend is a clamping feedneck and a barrel kit. all of the other stuff like a trigger is unnecessary unless you play nppl. i shoot psp mode and i can activate it with no effort with the trigger set like it was from the factory.
This is a great gun, with a new barrel and clamping feedneck it is an excellent gun. It is very easy to maintain and has very little problems. The stock baord is excellent and only an ignorant person would relpace it. For 170 dollars it is probably the best value out there period.

I've only used this gun 2 paintball trips but man does this rip. On one 68/45 tank I got around 1500 shots. I wasn't picking off elbows and top of heads but I was shooting straight from back left to back right(pretty damn impressive for a low end gun).
This gun also has some problems(hence the low end part). The feed neck is horrid. May I suggest getting a dye quick clamp feed neck. I personally did not have this problem but some of the bolts were running short on this line of guns so once you get it check for that. The last thing is during the breaking in period you o-rings will wear down and if your mechanically impaired like me, you'll be picking up a rental until you can bring it into the shop.
After you figure out your bolt is perfect, you grab a new feed neck, and you pass break in period you'll never be let down(or so i think haven"t gotten that far). As of right now i definitely recommend this gun.

I love my SLG, i got it when i got tech'd on it at World Cup and i was super impressed. Only problems that i have is that a new feedneck is needed, and i also experienced the problems of the bolt being too short and it rolling back behind the eyes. I talked to both Chris W and E_Rob at dye and they said to just have your local store include a longer tip with their next order.
All in all this is a great little gun and shouldn't be in the same sector as the ion...no way,
