Proto Paintball Proto Matrix 7 (PM7)Honestly, my favorite marker for the price. Granted the re-sale is low, the marker is amazing for its price. Extremely smooth and shoot ball on ball. Fine on air for me too.

I got this gun in a trade and never looked back. This gun is very reliable (it has never gone down), very consitant (pulling +/-4 at crono), and looks and feels sexy. There isnt that much kick either once u hit the right settings.
When you recieve this gun (if its new or lnib) you get
1) the PM7 itself
2) stock proto 2 piece barrel- which is actually pretty decent
3) manual- read it and u shouldnt have any problems
4) barrel condom
5) allens/ lube
6) warrenty card
as well as improving on making it smaller than the PM6 dye/proto also gave it a new board- which has different modes unlike previous protos which only had unlimited semi. They also gave it a new feedneck- a screw knob- rather than ajusting it with an allen. They got rid of the stupid plastic eye cover as well and gave it alluminum eye covers like a dm.
I used my teamates pm7 and i can tell you that the ultralite frame makes a big diffence but trust me its worth it if you have the money. Just like any proto owner im not fond of the ribbon eyes. Efficiency is not all that great- not as good as an ego but better than most. My team uses mostly ego7's and when compared to the pm7 the pm7 seems heavy- part of it could be due to my giant tank (trying to get a smaller one)- it is lighter than my teamates dm6 (same one mentioned before)... so weight really isnt that bad
pro's:
looks
consitant
decent efficiency
reliable
decent stock barrel
improved board- but if u get an ultralite frame it has diff modes anyway
imporved feedneck
cons
semi bulky stock frame
proto ribbon eyes
weight, i guess, not really that bad unless you have no muscle what so ever
i give it a 9/10 because of value- seeing as how the pm8 now comes with a ul frame,

Proto Paintball Proto Matrix 7 (PM7)Great gun for the price, especially since it's going for so cheap these days! Shoots just as good as any dm.

My Setup: PM7, UL Frame, Tadao Trauma Board, CP Sling Trigger
I got this gun for a great price and besides waiting 3 weeks and almost getting scammed by the seller, I am extremely happy with this gun. My PM7 came with the UL frame and Tadao board along with the stock frame, board, stock UL board and stock barrel. I put in a CP Sling trigger (so nice and light) and will be upgrading the stock barrel, even though it is pretty accurate. I suggest anyone thinking about getting the UL frame to do it!! If you are looking at 2 guns and one has a UL frame but is $50-75 more, get it!!
I came from a DP G3 and the PM7 is better in almost every category. I guess that's to be expected when comparing a $300 gun to a $900 gun. The G3 was very nice to hold and of course light but the PM7 with the UL frame feels like it was made for my hands. The LPR allows this gun to shoot so smooth which makes for better accuracy since there is less kick. This levels out the loss of accuracy you get from the stock .690/.691 , 12" 2-piece barrel. I can't wait to get a smaller bore and 14" front on this gun!
I had 1 leak from the ASA because of a shredded o-ring but have had no leaks from the bolt at all. Yes, there are plenty of o-rings that can cause an issue but routine maintenance keeps that in check, just like with any other gun. I hate the feedneck collar because you have to use an allen key to tighten it but I'll be replacing it shortly.
Overall, the PM7 is a excellent gun and for $150-225 it's a hard gun not to seriously consider if you are in the market for a new gun. I have no regrets and will be keeping this gun for a long time!
Score: 9/10 (with UL frame)

I play with this gun for many years and when it works its a beast.
they are a little more difficult to take care of than ego's but its worth it if you can keep your matrix running.
super smooth gun
looks great
overall a great gun
