Pros: Minimal kick, quality era proto parts, so smooth
Cons: lil big if you compare it to the modern dm's
So when a dye/proto gun gets in to the 3 year old range it becomes dirty cheep. The low price is nice for a tourney player who is just short on money, or a newer player looking for an affordable classy high end.

Something to note, the PM5-8 came with LPR's. Newer protos don't have an LPR and aren't as smooth so players don't have the ability to tinker with them as much. Furthermore some of those markers use plastic parts. Be warned.

The PM7 is all metal. It comes with the standard dye/proto goodies of the time. Clamping neck, dye airport style asa, hyper 2, fuse bolt. This edition of the Proto adds a tourney board, which saves the player money from having to buy virtue just to add psp mode (many did this on the PM6 and hated it) Grips are the stickey grips and work fine. LPR up front, and HPR is the reliable hyper 2. Trigger is standard looking but functions fine.

The M7 has a nice feel to it, something like a heavier DM7 withoit a UL frame, and the shot performance reminded me of a DM5. It put out smooth straight shots, very quite, and I never broke any paint. I tuned my dwell and the sound changed again for the better. Had no problems shooting in psp 12.5 and thats how players need their guns to work. Because you save so much money on getting an older moddle gun you can grab modern upgrades such as a hyper 3 reg, UL barrel, or dm8 style feedneck.

Problems:
Gun may be kind of chubby for newer players.

You need to tune for efficiency, not all players will have the max amount of shots per tank because the process may confuse them

If you play serious days of paintball that bolt better be shown love after every time you play

But its dirty cheep and shoots great. I'd say get one while you can.

Stock Board can be upgraded. I have a Tadao.
Bolt can use 501 Mod. Will definately increase efficiency.
Marker is extremely reliable except when gassing up the bolt may not pull back all the way causing air to leak from the bolt tip. Simple fix is to de-gas marker, push bolt back with finger and it works perfectly for the rest of the day.

Extremely happy.

Pros: Design, Speed, Ergonomics
Cons: Maintenance, Accuracy, On/Off, Trigger Spring
So just a few things I will point out on this gun because there are so many reviews already on it.

The eyes are a thin ribbon wire and the first time I took apart this gun, I broke them. No I'm not a moron, it just happened. The eyes are kinda a pain in the *** to work around no joke. Anyway bought new eyes and was good to go.

I had a problem with the gas chamber staying together. After several shots the gas chamber and top hat would always seem to start unscrewing for some reason so I constantly had to check it. I believe this affected accuracy and efficiency as well.

The stock On/Off is TERRIBLE. Mine broke after the week if I recall correctly so after a purchase of a CP On/Off no more problems there.

Point is that this gun was way over priced IMO. It definitely has some high end features but lacks the overall quality I would expect from a 700+ gun retail. Furthermore this gun I just sold for 175 so its also lost a lot of value and for that matter, there are a lot of other guns out there that are better for around the same price. 400 gun tops, is what this gun should have been

These things are a little weak in the efficiency department, but make up for it if the overall shooting experience. I honestly think with a top hat (or eigenring) and some hater sauce this is one of the true dark horses on the market.
