Pros: Light, comfortable, great trigger, smooth shot
Cons: Ugly grips
I'll start off with saying that this is a very under-rated marker. I was looking to pick up a modern stacked-tube poppet valve marker since I love that platform but only had older ones--06/07 Cyborgs and Infinity Legends. I had my choices narrowed down to an Ego 11 and JT Impulse and I'm very glad I took the plunge on the Impulse. I'll also add that I owned a G6R for a bit and while I liked the shot, I found it to be quite picky and not as comfortable as the Impulse. Let's go ahead and break down the Impulse:

Weight
It's very light, I believe an ounce or two lighter than the Ego 11. It feels to be the same weight as a G6R and with my Spire, Lurker 1 piece barrel and Ninja 68 SL tank the whole setup is very light. Weight will not be a problem.

Ergonomics
This is where the Impulse shines. The frame is akin to the Dye frames and it just fits my hand beautifully. The ASA is situated fairly far back (about even with the back of the gun), which puts the tank further back than something with a more vertical frame. The feedneck is situated fairly far-forward. Combine those two things and the balance is excellent, which makes an already lightweight setup feel even nicer. Every person that held the gun today commented on the weight and comfort. The grips are very comfortable and thin, despite the ugly white on black (I'd prefer all black).

Trigger
My ideal design and absolutely no lateral slop whatsoever. I've never felt a trigger this laterally constrained. There's plenty of adjustment, the magnetic return feels solid, and the pull is very crisp. I've got no complaints here at all.

Shot feel
The Impulse uses a balanced valve, which requires less opening force than a standard unbalanced valve. This allows a lower cycling pressure and lower dwell time to achieve the same results. The shot feel is very soft and smooth with just a small amount of positive feedback. I'm not one to go nuts about "kick" like some and I prefer just a little feedback. No complaints here at all.

Internals
The valve on this marker seems to perform very nicely--it provides great efficiency, a smooth shot, and reliability. The sealing face uses a urethane oring, which is a very resilient, reliable way to achieve a seal. As a result, valve leaks should never occur with this marker like they easily can with a metal on metal or delrin on metal seal. The ram is just a basic stainless steel unit and is similar in size to the G6R ram. One feature that really hasn't been discussed or marketed about this gun is the dual-stage ram, similar to the Ego Zick unit. Yes, it does use a dual-stage ram, which will help the marker to be very gentle on fragile paint. The ram is also decelerated slowly with a bumper oring that registers with the ram cap. The result is a very refined, gentle shot. Lastly, the bolt--it's a simple delrin bolt with a ramped inlet (oring on either side), and a ramped/cupped face with a tip oring. My only complaint here is that there is about 2mm of slop that a paintball will see between the bolt face and the ball detents. I'd like to experiment with a Boss bolt to see if it will improve on this dimension. With that said, I've had no ball breaks/chops and no issues whatsoever.

Everything else
The ASA is simple, small and the venting works well. The regulators seem to be built well, are easy to disassemble and provide decent consistency. They should improve with more use. I cannot comment on the stock barrel, as I won't use it. I use Lurker barrels on everything I own. The case is nice and functional and provides nice soft storage for the marker. Tuning the marker is simple, drama-free and it just flat out works. The OLED screen is bright and the programming is dead simple and easy to navigate. It's also in a nice location on the back of the frame and won't be a pain to clean if it gets hit.

Conclusion
I absolutely love this marker. It's probably my favorite stacked tube poppet valve gun of all time after putting a case through it today. I still need to get some more usage out of it before coming to that conclusion but in terms of feel, it's the best I've used. Time will tell the rest of the story. I highly, highly recommend this marker to those looking for a simple high-end, modern stacked tube marker but don't want to drop huge cash on the "premium" options out there.

Cons: allens are cheap, no oil
I have shot just about every highend on the market right now, and I am truely impressed with the new JT impulse, I was not expecting this gun to shoot the way it does being JTs first attempt at a high end, but I was wrong, the ergonomics of the gun are great, the shot is the smoothest of any poppit ive ever shot and the gun has absolutely no kick! JT out did themselves on this gun, and I highly suggest you all go out and try one for yourself you will not be dissapointed!! Ive heard people complain about the price, but its one of the cheaper highends on the market, this gun is the top of the high end class in every aspect!

Cons: feedneck Complete package
i really wanted to get into an LV1 but couldn't justify the money

started looking into these and gambled and boy has it paid off

love this thing to death

Pros
The Shot quality, dono if its the new gun feel but its just spot on
Its not overly loud, in fact no one really made mention of it.
It feels great in the hands. i along with everyone else have stated this.
The board gets a lot of gripes but i feel its perfect, its easier to use then my geo was imo.
For being so subtle on the looks department, it wasn't short of getting attention on the field which is great because i feel this gun is severely under marketed and underrated.
Trigger is very nice as well
ASA is super smooth to use, nothing fancy, nothing to go wrong here ethier

Cons
The feedneck is a good one no doubt but i liked the adjustable knob that planet puts on their guns. This one requires an allen if the bolt decides it wants to move, not a deal breaker by any means
It could of came with lube and a nicer set of allens and a proper paperback manual but apples and oranges

Overall, i can't be happier. Its missing the "complete" package you would get if you did have an PE product but a PE product is usually 2-3 maybe even 400 more dollars. I don't buy markers new. I've never bought a new marker. I would consider paying full price for it. Its that good to me

The JT impulse is Honestly the best gun of 2013...Not only in price vs other high ends like the Ego or Dm blah blah...But its super smooth for a pop it due to its a balance valve and pretty quite as well (for a pop it). Definitely better than the Ego LV1. With its ez of maintenance and overall quality for the dollar...It wins
