The G5 is the perfect beginners gun. DP has fixed every issue with the G series with the G5. The new grips, new trigger, new reg, new bolt system, new trigger frame...it all adds up to an amazing shooter. No bolt stick, a crisp shot, virtually no kick, a great stock board, and the trigger is outstanding.

Pros: nomacro, light, trigger, shoots smooth, bolt system
Cons: bolt stick
I've had this gun for a couple months, have been using it every weekend have put at least 6 through it so far. I like the bolt system and macro less design. The only way the gun can really leak is due to the o-rings being worn. Very simple to take apart and clean it. The raps asa is really helpful to makes it alot easier to take tanks off plus no wasting air when you put your tank on. The trigger is perfect for semi, it's really easy to walk, I'm sure its fine for the other modes as well but I've only used Semi.
Comes with a case, manual, ball joint allen key set, parts kit (mostly orings and crappy lube),barrel sock. The color manual is very descriptive on everything you'd need to know. Shows you exactly. The ball joint allen keys are great. I'd recommend getting new lube though, because I've had a bolt stick problem with this gun.
The bolt sticking is really the only problem i have with this gun at all.
Everyone seems to ***** about the "kick", but after using it a couple times you get use to it right away.

Cons: stock barrel not so great
Ive used the G5 a few times so far mostly for speedball, and i love it the cost of the gun is in the right price range, the full set of allen wrenches, full colored manuel, the way this gun feels in your hands is just great, the fully customizable trigger is also a plus because im able to put it in the right place so i can pull the trigger better, this is the first dangerous power gun that i own i was skeptical about it because of the G4s defects but this gun has yet to disappoint me, the only thing that i would like to change about the gun is the stock barrel a one piece 13", its not bad im just not a fan of it but besides that this gun is just really nice a good start off gun for beginners

However, it is simple to fix. I might just buy 30 O-rings and be good to go, because other than that I LOVE this gun The Trigger is awesome and the gun shoots very smoothly.

Some people complain about the kick, I don't mind it at all. Here soon Techt will have a bolt for it anyway I'm sure.

If you are considering a gun under 400... GET THIS ONE! but with a few extra O-rings.

After a few years being away from the sport, I decided to get back into it, and my wife bought me this gun as a wedding present. Honestly I have I have enjoyed the marker a lot, and feel like I can make a pretty good judgement based on past markers I have used that are comparable.

Initial reaction:

I was impressed with the looks and the weight, and definitely liked the lack of an external running macroline, and the on/off ASA and clamping feedneck are always a big plus. I liked the way that it felt in my hands, I have slightly larger than average hands and have no problems with holding the marker. The trigger is also easily the best trigger I have used on a gun (stock at least). I had gone to the store to look at guns with my wife and decided that this would be the gun I would get due to it being in our price range, initial reactions, and the guys at the store talked it up (which honestly, they are supposed to do that, they are working in a store after all).

After I received the marker, I took to the internet to see if there was anything I should know, any good upgrades and the like (which honestly I usually research things before I buy but there was just so much new stuff from my years away) and I became pretty concerned from everything I was reading. Honestly, it was really hard to find good reviews on dangerous power and their products and I was under the impression I bought a money pit.

Impressions after playing:

I played the the marker nonetheless, and to be truthful I have not experienced any issues or problems with the gun, and have had a very positive experience. The first shot from the marker was very under powered due to bolt stick, but a lot of that is because of the lube that came with it (which is not that great) but I have not experienced any bolt stick since the very first shot. The G5 is not that quiet, but seems to be on par with a lot of other guns (my G5 is quieter than my friends Axe, but I think that has a lot to do with his barrel and tune). The kick is more than some of the higher end guns, but that shouldn't be too surprising, and is completely manageable. I would say it probably kicks a little more than comparably priced spoolies, like the rail but its not bad. I haven't quite broken the gun in yet having only put two cases through it, but the consistency was average, not terrible but nothing to brag about with +/- 7-8. The stock barrel leaves something to be desired but gets the job done. This gun isn't a model of efficiency, and I would rate its efficiency as average. Overall impressions were good, especially considering the doom and gloom everyone filled me with online.

Personal preferences:

There is not too much I dislike about the G5, but probably my biggest complaint would be that the LED that shows you if your gun is on/off and the status of the eyes is really hard to see in the sunlight. If they had a brighter light that would help a lot. Also, I am looking for a nicer barrel or kit since the stock barrel really only accomplishes the bare minimum. In all reality I don't have too many complaints.

Overall:

My impression was very high probably only because I read a lot of hate online, and when none of those issues came up day after day, I was very happy. I have never owned an older DP gun, and they may have had issues, but many people that hate on DP should really give a G5 a try because I think it would give them a different impression. The gun was very much worth the price and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone looking for a gun in the 300-400 dollar price range should definitely consider this gun. Regular maintenance (after every day of play) with nice lube will keep this marker going strong!

Pros: Lightweight, Performance, Price, Looks
Cons: Gas Hog, ASA Oring
Purchased the G5 about 3 months back after deciding to get a new back up marker.

After reading the reviews and info about the marker, I knew that it was going to lightweight, but I really didn't expect it to be even lighter then I was expecting. For some individuals this may be a negative to them as it feels like you might break it by looking at it, but for long weekends out practicing at the field, the lightweight will be worth it. As it states up above, when you combine the lightweight, the performance of the marker and the looks with a low price, you have a very nice marker that can definitely keep up with more expensive markers.

The only problems that I have had with the marker are as follows:
-A little bit of bolt stick right out of the box (after about a case through it, it stopped sticking)
-The Oring that is in between the ASA and the grip frame has twice "blown out" (unsure if this is due to the ASA somehow coming loose or if the tank output pressure is somehow too high)
-Even after being broken-in, the efficiency of the marker is a bit less then other spoolies that I have used over the years (about 1200-1300 shots with a 68/4500 tank)

Overall it is definitely a great little marker for the price and it exactly what you want in a cheap back-up gun.
