Empire knows that paintballers are not made of money, that's why they made Hotbox paintballs. They are a consistent paintball with a recreation grade shell and a bright fill.

Price paid: $36.95
Pros: Cheap, pretty consistent, decent shell
Cons: None as far as cheap paint goes
I bought the hotbox as a cheap paint for woodsball/recball. The shop didn't have valken infinity so I went with the hotbox. For being $4 cheaper, the paint seems better than the infinity. The ball size is a little larger, so it fit my barrel and my buddy's barrel better for more accurate shooting. The fill was fine, and the shell was tough enough that it did not break in my barrel, but brittle enough to not bounce much and almost always break on impact.

I will be using the hotbox as my cheap woodsball/recball/practice paint from now on, especially for $36.95 at my local shop.

local field must have gotten this as a deal and used it for like 2 days! Got the blue shell yellow fill and mixed it in with a half case of mm balls (have no idea what they are (brown shell yellow fill and say mm on them)). i felt like the hotbox balls were far better then the mm balls flew straighter and almost always broke on target or surroundings.

Empire Hotbox Ived used this a couple of weekends in a row as this was the only paint available. It was cheap but I shot several people fairly close range and a large portion didn't bust.

Empire Hotbox Ive shot a lot of these and in my opinion they are garbage. Oily right outta the box, balls are mishaped and barrel break. Ive used spectrum too which is a slight step up but basically the same ball....

Cons: Oily, mishapen, dimples= barrel break
Ive shot a lot of these and in my opinion they are garbage. Oily right outta the box, balls are mishaped and barrel break. Ive used spectrum too which is a slight step up but basically the same ball. I have used premium and allstar as well although not as much but had problems with both. I say go valken unless empire rps wants to improve quality. Sorry tha was kind of a rant just sick of paying for garbage

Empire Hotbox Nice balls for practice but not for professional games. Also breaks are rare as the shell is quite hard

Pros: Better than White Box
Cons: Many Bounces, Hard
The field price made this not such a good deal. Shot better than the white no name boxes but had very similar results. Not what I was looking for out of something with the Empire name on it. I think like paint that normally goes for $45, but this won't be a re-buy. Better then Walmart or Kmart balls but that's about it.

Pros: Cheap, good breaks, bright
Cons: Ugly shells, inconsistent
Price paid is a bit higher than on-line but that is to be expected in Hawaii. After several games and close to 3 cases this weekend I feel it is a good rec ball. I have an empire mini with Delron bolt and did not have any breaks. Used a Vmax and halo too both feed the balls fine. This is not a ball I would go to a tourney with but for weekend fun or some woodsball it does the job and for that price you can't beat it.

Empire Hotbox Pretty decent for practice. Obviously it's not going to be brittle with a great fill but for the price, it's pretty good. It was a slight step up from Valken infinity, which cost more.
