Pros: New "pinless look"
Cons: Overpriced
This is a nice bolt that does offer some performance increase over the stock bolt. The cost however, is insane for what this bolt provides.

The Premium bolt does away with the traditional top pin design and instead uses a rear slide to move the pin up and down. This makes for a very sleek design that is much less distracting while shooting (not that the old bolt pin was bad). Bob Long kept the overall body of the stock G6R Dirt Resistant bolt but added in an aluminum core and pillow section. The aluminum core has a venture face with the traditional Bob Long pillow insert to prevent paint breaks. I have been told the airflow has been redesigned but from what I can tell visually, it is the same bottom air inlet with a venture insert instead of the stock open face. This does provide for a slightly more muffled shot than stock but isn't a significant change. Despite some reports of this bolt having more mass than the stock bolt, it is the same weight.

Performance wise there was very little gained over the stock bolt. I was able to keep velocity at a slightly lower fps setting (10 psi) and as stated earlier the bolt was a little quieter. I attribute this improvement to be most likely a result of a more precise aluminum face and/or the positioning of the pin more directly behind the bolt but I can't be certain. Overall for the performance benefits you get, I think this bolt should be priced closer to the $50 range but it does give you a small offering of performance improvement. I do enjoy the bolt and plan keeping it on my marker.

Pros: It is an improvement
Cons: Improvement isn't worth the price
Appearance - It does look very good and the red finished tip is a great touch. I do like the thumb drive pin

Performance - It does feel very slightly better than the stock bolt; I don't feel very much of a difference but the sound signature is slightly different and the shot felt slightly different when compared side by side with the same setup. everything else is pretty much the same.

Reliability - It's about the same as the stock bolt; the only difference is it has the soft tip which i have heard can shoot out the front if you dry fire it too much, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, its great.

Value - It does have a better build quality and is better overall, however, I would save this upgrade for when you have extra cash lying around and you have upgraded your gun in every other way. If you have an option to get it with your gun, like some of the special 2012 models (ie the flame and the dragon), then definitely go for it.

Conclusion - Yes, it does shoot better with this over the stock but it is not noticeable enough to justify $100. If money is tight, don't bother with it, but if you have some extra cash, go for it.

How do I justify this review? - I used it in a tournament where I shot 3 cases of paint through this gun. Before that I had shot about 20 cases of paint through the gun. I also have shot another case of paint through it at home with the pillow bolt. I even did a side by side test where I used two hoppers of extremely brittle and old paint through both bolts with every other factor factor was the same identical. The difference was unnoticeable with the brittle paint.
