Great marker, worth the buy. Mine was a bit more because it was LE. Shoots ropes on ropes, but if you get shot on the side and it seeps underneath the eye covers and eyes... Expect to shoot 1 straight ball out of 20. Once you go through the painstaking process of taking the gun apart without breaking something and you've cleaned your eyes and assembled everything again, it will shoot just as good as it did out of the box. It's EXTREMELY LIGHT, I think I weighed it in at like 1lb 8-12oz that's with the barrel. The grip is nice and I've never had a problem with accidentally switching the modes. The on/off asa works flawlessly, but you still need to take one shot after you turn it off to completely degas the marker. The board's on/off switch is really nifty. The 12" barrel is nice to get started, but after playing a while with it I feel like I'm gonna get a freak kit or something. I never feel outclassed when I'm playing with this gun, unless I'm playing against someone with an lv1 or something along that lines. The feedneck was a little tight out of the box and I had to sand down my hopper just a bit. Thats pretty much it. Buy this gun if you have around a $400 budget for a new marker, heck... I did. It totally beats out the Reflex Rail with its gas-through system and its comfortable foregrip. It also wins against the G5 with its lack of problems of owning a DP gun. Only other con I can think of is its lack of upgrades, besides the barrel.

I received this gun as a try it, and it shot well for awhile, but i soon started having lots of problems. i soon found the problems and fixed them. put my freak barrel on the proton and my god it shot just as good as a Axe, Etek, Ego. it was superb. i was dumb-founded. i recommend this gun for any 1-2yr players on a budget. Great Gun! Good Job Valken.

Valken Sports Proton Very well packaged Marker. Shot great even in the cold. Easy to use and maintain. I just didn't like the way the grip felt or the small forward grip. Good entry level marker with high end features....

Very well packaged Marker. Shot great even in the cold. Easy to use and maintain. I just didn't like the way the grip felt or the small forward grip. Good entry level marker with high end features. After some use the eyes tend to get dirty and cause the software to go into a safe mode. A Quick swab and back in business.
