The Virtue Spire is the next generation in loader technology with a shot activated sensor, jam-proof feeding system and a tool-less design that can be taken apart and reassembled in seconds. Not only is the Spire an aggressive, lightweight, and compact design, but it also holds more paint than the leading competitors.

When I first got my Spire the sensitivity was (and still seems to be a little) too high. It was constantly trying to load, so after a day of play I adjusted it. Far easier than expected. Since then it's been flawless. After transitioning from a rotor, I find myself not needing to load less at critical times or having to pull for a jam, this loader really seems to handle inconsistent paint well. Really want to grab the 260 shell, just waiting for the price to drop some.

Cons: msrp of loader?
I have used many different loaders during my 16 years of competitive speedball and most recently I was a rotor fan. But after our teams sponsorship with Virtue, who has been awesome - HUGE thanks to Dave Bains and everyone at Virtue for everything, I have come to realize that the rotor has been out done. I havent had any breaks, jams, fails or otherwise bad happenings from my Spire. Much like the rotor or any other high end loader to pay retail price upwards of 200.00 I think is a con of any of them but the performance and color options available of the Spire are worth it. The icing on the cake is the customer service of all the people at Virtue and especially Dave Bains for all his help with the sponsorship.

Pros: Light, small, no jams
Cons: battery life
I got my Spire through a team sponsorship. Prior I used a rotor and I thought very highly of it, it performed great and did what I needed it to do. Upon receiving the Spire and using it just ONCE I have no problem putting my rotor off to the side. This loader is small so it plays tight, feeds great and is gentle on paint and looks even better. I have had one now for more than a season and it has never jammed. The only "complaint" I have is the battery life. In a perfect world I'd like to have it last a little longer but that doesn't even come close to turning me away from the performance.

There isn't much to say about loaders, either they work or they don't. Fortunately for the Spire, it works. The simplicity of its design, and how easy it is to use, it is easily the top hopper out at this time. There are very few issues with jamming, it is as durable as any other hopper out there, super easy to field strip, and has a very low profile, everything combined it is hard to beat. The only issue with the Spire is the retail price. Luckily the market is being flooded with Spires, and they can be found at a reasonable price used.

Pros: Large ball capacity, feeds everything
Cons: Somewhat weak parts in my experience, price
I Preordered the spire when it first came out, and got a second one not long after that. I have had some issues throughout my time using the spire but virtue always takes care of me right away, and its the best hopper out, so I continue to use it.

First off the low profile and increased ball capacity over the rotor and z2 is great. I also love that you can drop the tray into either a 260 shell or a regular shell in about 3 seconds and your good to go.

Looks wise I think it is the best looking loader on the market right now.

My spires always work no matter what. They will feed anything and I have never had a jam. If you accidentally break a ball in it they are also really simple to clean since they have only 3 main parts. The Speed feed, Shell, and tray.

The original speed feed was not the greatest but they really stepped up their game with the spring feed. They work amazing and combined with the spires wide feed hole you loose very few balls while podding.

The issues I have had with my spires have been the back button assemblies breaking multiple times and the fingers on the spire cone breaking. IMO these 2 parts are the only shortfall of the loader. These are the only 2 issues I think need to be addressed..

I give it a 9 out of 10 because of the parts breaking multiple times. Other than that both my spires have worked perfectly for me since I have owned them.

The new Spire comes apart really easy to replace batteries, install speed feeds, clean, or just to check it out. with todays tournaments the hopper does not need to be able to shoot 5000 BPS it just needs to be about to feed, Never Jam and be easy to use. Thats what you get with the spire!

Pros: Looks sexy, feeds well.
Cons: A little problematic.
Out of the box my spire would not turn on, so I took it back to my local store who got it up and running, but then it had the problem that a handful of other people have had with it trying to constantly cycle, so I will need to send it back into Virtue themselves to have it updated. It looks better than any other hopper out there, but performance-wise I have to give it up to my Rotor. My personal advice would be to grab a Rotor over the Spire, but see if you cant play a few games with either first.

I own a Prophecy Z2, a Rotor, and this Spire. There is a few reasons why I choose to use the Spire every time I'm playing. My Z2 is my backup. Rotor is my loaner.

Before I continue, I honestly think you can't go wrong with any of the 3 loaders in my review. They are all durable. (trust me I beat them up good) They will all feed 12.5 BPS with ease and offer many many games of quiet, trouble-free performance, *most* of the time.

Spire has the tendency of spinning/pulsing a while at the beginning of the game when trying to get a stack with tension. I just lowered the tension setting until this stopped. It also has a tendency to have difficulty loading the last 5 balls in your hopper, if you ever get that low on paint. Easily remedied by reloading.

Other then that, there are literally NO drawbacks to this hopper when compared to the other two hoppers I mentioned at the top.
- Lighter than a Rotor, and close to the Z2 in weight. (maybe even lighter)
- Holds more paint than either of the other two.
- Lower profile than either of the other two.
- Faster than a Rotor to strip (a worthy feat) and WAAAY faster than a Z2 to strip
- Easy as pie to clean once stripped. (3 parts, 2 of which you can dunk in water)
- Never jams, unlike rotors. (Rotors don't jam alot, but more often than Spire or Z2)
- Never blends paint, unlike Z2's. (The fins on the drive tray are pretty sharp, and have caused me problems)
- Bigger reload opening than Rotor. (About same as Z2)
- Switching from solid lid to speed feed is easiest out of all 3 loaders.
- The CrownSF speedfeed is literally the best available on the market, and is proprietary to this loader for now.
- Battery life comparable to a Rotor, which is much better than a Z2. (plus, uses one less AA battery)

Cons: settings are finicky, doesn't load if tilted
the loader is light, and is very good on the batteries. the looks were goofy at first glance, but it grows on you. virtue cs is great, i have contacted them in regards to a few issues and they responded great with different settings to try. the only gripe i have with the loader is if you tilt the loader past say 45 degrees to the left...it does not feed. thats no bueno. personally i would like to see a spring loaded tray from the front to help push paint toward the spire. all in all a good solid loader.
