Appearance

The Geo 3 has a stunning and elegant design that is very sleek (very slim) and lightweight. There have been several visual enhancement from the trimmed down milling, raised grip frame for a better line of sight, extended real rubber contact point, slightly larger visual display, new eye covers, and the NEW solenoid adjustment screw. There have been significant progressions in appearance and performance from the original Geo to the Geo 2 to the Geo 2.1 and now the Geo 3.

Performance

The performance of the marker is spectacular over the previous Geos. Not that the others were slouches, but this one just takes that necessary step forward that I had been waiting to occur in that the marker shoots significantly more consistent and smoother. Is it the Luxe 1.0, DM, or Clone GT smoothÖ? NO, but it does feel pretty nice. Shoots corner to corner and across the field with no problem and is extremely accurate. Itís fast on the draw and very comfortable (even though the Geo 3 is compact). Having the solenoid adjustment screw will help players fine tune the marker even further. The Geo 3 does come with an improved and simpler solenoid. PE is all about the KISS method (keeping it simple but yet effective). On top of that, it shoots 2-4 pods more than itís predecessors making it a marker for all positions whether you play rec-ball, PSP, or 7 man.

Reliability

Without saying, PE has hit another home run with reliability and that holds true with the Geo 3. Maintenance is quick and painless with no tools required to breakdown the marker. Simply clean the bolt and propshaft, re-lube and reassemble. The regulator needs minimal maintenance every 2-3 months, which is also plus.

Value

For tournament, recball, and beginners, the Geo 3 is the marker for the job with no tools required to disassemble, ease of maintenance, outstanding performance, and reliability, the price point is fair and reasonable.

Overall

The Geo 3 receives 5 Stars for Appearance, Performance, Reliability, and Value.

Love the Geo platform, they have never let me down and this one continues the tradition. The new Geo is quieter and easier to adjust the shot than the previous Geo2. The SFR is a much needed improvement and the soft tip bolt seems to provide better handling of the more fragile brittle paint (not that I ever had an issue with the previous Geo's). All in all this Geo is well worth it in my opinion and is worth the extra money.

Planet Eclipse Geo 3 The geo3, in my opinion, is the best spool valve released to date for many reasons. They are very reliable, efficient, and easy to use. Perfect for any type of player.

Really pleased with the gun, I think my Ego 11 is going to be put in retirement

I have had the Geo 3 since it came out, and was also able to test the marker before release.

The Geo 3 is an amazing marker. It's incredibly beautiful aesthetically in my opinion. The shot quality is decent out of the box compared to most markers, but the sound is very quiet. Maintenance is little.

Being a spoolie, I did have issues in the winter. (20 degree weather.)
However, this marker shoots incredibly consistent.

I love the marker, huge upgrade from my older model ego. It is very smooth and quiet, and more accurate (don't know why or how).

The only complaints I have are the existence of a macroline, and that I think the front grip could be spaced out another inch (I have huge hands and my thunb hits the trigger guard).

Great tho, i love it

Pros: Simplicity, Smooth Shot
Cons: Price
Having owned the first generation Geo, I recently returned to the Geo platform after shooting my G6R for 3 years. I had always loved the original Geos ergonomics, but the lack of efficiency, adjustability and very non-spool like shot quality eventually turned me off a bit on the gun as a true high end. With this newest edition, Eclipse not only managed to fix some of my dislikes with the first platform, but completely overhaul the shot feel and adjustability of the gun.

Packaging: Typical excellent packaging with spare parts, tools, a tube of lube, full color manual and case. Eclipse also includes both he Soft Touch and Soft Touch 2 bolt with the gun which is a nice touch. I have yet to understand why someone would want to use the Soft Touch over the new Soft touch 2, but that option is at least there for you.

Adjustability: The gun comes with an enormous range of adjustability. You are provided with your usual trigger selections of either opto or microswitch trigger activation and either spring or magnetic tension. The trigger itself also has full pre, post and trip activation adjustments with combined with your activation and return selection gives you nearly every type of trigger combination a person could want.

Board settings are easily adjustable via an extremely user-friendly LCD interface. Users can even change screen colors and the background itself both on the board and with Eportal connectivity. The firing modes are a bit limited on the board however, containing only semi and ramp options and some limiting parameters on those as well. Overall an excellent board.

The Geo 3 comes with Bolt Speed Control via a solenoid flow restrictor. This is in my opinion what really separates this gun from a lot of them out there. It works similar to the restrictors on shockers and the luxe by adjusting the airflow on the solenoid. Unlike Shockers and the Luxe however, the adjustability of the bolt speed can be done externally on the fly. This allows you to lower the bolt speed for maximum smoothness and paint handling or speed it up for responsiveness and high rates of fire.

Efficiency: Coming from a G6R the Geo 3 is a bit of a downgrade in terms of efficiency but in no way a slouch for a spool valve. I can get approximately 9 pods out of a full fill which should be plenty for your average user.

Shot Feel: The Geo 3 is significantly smoother and quieter than the original Geo. The shot is comparable to a Luxe or shocker and perhaps just slightly harsher than a well tuned DM. Not bad from a gun this light and simple to work on.

Maintenance, Reliability and Simplicity: Where I feel this gun really shines is in its simplicity and reliability. It is has a much longer maintenance interval in comparison to most other spool valves and is incredible easy to work on with its nearly completely tooless disassembly. The gun uses far less Dynamic seals than comparably performing guns which allows you to troubleshoot easily and helps prevent bolt stick. The gun is incredibly reliable and great for a "play and forget" user.

Paint Handling: Planet Eclipse guns have always been great on paint handling and the Geo 3 is no different. I am only a few cases into the gun, but have already gone completely break free shooting both incredibly poor quality to high end brittle ultra evil. The def tek feedneck helps prevent bounces in the breach and the design of the bolt itself works great for preventing ball clippings and gently contacting the paintball during chambering.

Overall: This is an excellent product for a user wanting that great spool valve feel without the usual spool valve hassle. Its simplicity and reliability will keep any user on the field in even the roughest playing conditions without worry. It isn't an efficiency king overall, but for its class it does pretty well. Its no wonder why these are favored by a lot of PSP players and scenario players alike out there. Hope you enjoyed the review.

Picked up a geo 3 after hearing such great things... this gun does not disappoint. I have been a Luxe fan boy ever since I picked one up at RETAIL... never again the geo 3 just feels so much better and just as smooth if tuned correctly and broken in. My by far most favorite gun.
