I dry fired this gun today and was allowed to dump a hopper load in the chrono zone. I really enjoyed the experience and it made the hair on my neck stand up. I was very excited to have that opportunity and I have strongly considered buying the gun for my own personal use. I suggest it to middle and upper middle class players.

Pros: Accurate, lightweight, efficient
Cons: a bit loud
I bought an etek 4 from my local dealer and it simply blew me away. It fires very smoothly, and accurately even with the stock barrel. The frame is very sturdy and can take the pounding one expects when playing any level of paintball. It is very air and battery efficient, but only if you actually take the battery out after each use because the marker will still hold the charge if you don't. In terms of maintenance this gun is a breeze. Planet eclipse provides you with a thorough maintenance walkthrough in the manual, and no tools are required for basic maintenance. You want to be sure to use eclipse oil on the rammer before and after you play, and grease the regulator after every 3-4th use. The only con to this marker is that it is a bit loud when shooting fast, but otherwise has tournament worthy performance. Lastly, the board is very easy to program and requires no time at all.

Overall, the etek 4 is a fantastic marker that I would recommend to any regular rec our tournament player.

The Etek4 is a great marker. It looks good and feels great in the hands. It is fairly durable and I know because I play snake and do a lot of supermaning. I like the size of the bore because it lets me be flexible with the paint I use where as my friend with an FX cant use some of the paint from our local field because he has a smaller bore. i would have to say for $500 it is pretty good. I spent an extra $100 and got the APE OLED board which I like. It has many different modes. The only down side to it is that it is necessary to use the panel grips.

I bought this gun up in red and i've put about 3 cases through it. So far I love it. Im using my friends pooty mod cure 4 bolt and its amazing. The only problem I had with it is the trigger is messed up, I was adjusting it and it kept moving on its own, I fixed it though.

I own a HDE earth ETEK 4LT
appearance-I like the looks of the marker the lines sort of remind me of the EGO 8 a bit the HDE pattern is nicely done and i was happy to see on mine that the reg collar also has the HDE pattern on it, i bring this up because i see other ETEK 4's that have the just all black regs and the collars are not matched to the body color

What new-
The new Opps ASA is very nice i love the macro entering the center of the on/off knob a lot and have no macro fittings that get in your way.

it comes with the shaft 4 barrel which are nice barrels only complaint about it would be the bore size it comes with i don't use the stock barrel that much because of this i use a freak barrel instead i would like them to in the future to have it come with a 685/689 barrel back.

It comes with the Zick 2 kit even if the box is miss labeled the zick makes the marker shoot great i have owned 2 etek 2's but no 3's and i always put a
zick kit in those to help with the kick even thought its not that bad.

well i know some people have a problem because it comes with plastic parts but i feel these parts are very strong on the marker and feel they will last a
long time this, it is not a good reason to not buy this marker yes it has plastic but the parts that are will be durable and strong

I have only used the marker once so far but it shot great the barrel is a little big i switch it out after one game and accuracy was great after that. The trigger is good just needs some tweeking to what ever you are wanting it to feel like. Board its very good and has what you need i have yet to change anything and don't plan on changing the programming i will leave it as it is. as far as what upgrades i would suggest for it maybe a cure 4 but the stock is great, i myself plan on buying a boost kit for it and that is about it. The marker is great stock it only needs paint and more paint

I would recommend this marker to anyone that is looking for mid level marker it comes in a great case like every planet marker does,it has a great spare parts kit you can rebuild completely with the kit they give you.

Pros: Clean design, reliable, best current value, fast
Cons: Loud, shoots a bit rough, not the most efficient.
Holding the Etek 4 at my local shop just aesthetically I was forced into a childish "look what I have" sort of grin. Its a very pleasing site at around $500.00 MSRP, it's relatively light (noticeably so compared to its predecessor) with tasteful milling, and non-metallic parts to further its diet (of course talking about the lt model). It's a very comfortable marker, neat, compact, feels good in your hands.

Shooting is a bit different, when I got it home and fired off the first pod I had to take a breather and I still haven't gotten rid of that ringing in my ears. Sort of an over-statement but when we have markers that sound like a fly that comes too close to your ear it is a bit much in terms of noise. It's fast though! Easily up to the task of tournament level play, you may also scare the opposition to death firing at close range.

It's fun, clean, efficient, reliable (planet eclipse doesn't need any charity on reliability, amazing staff and customer service), fast, and easily the best bang for your buck at the mid - high end marker range. I really do mean bang.

If you're starting to get into competitive play and don't want to make the gaudy $1200.00 investment for a high end marker, this is the answer to your prayers, buy this gun and shoot people with it.
