Cons: kinda hard to put together
I just got my magna last week. I also own a vlocity jr. but was looking to try another hopper for the heck of it. The first day of playing with it was pretty nice, had my settings a little messed up(breaking paint in hopper due to spring setting off) but once I had my settings the right way, the hopper was a blast.

Pros
- very fast loader
- lid is very easy to open and close
- tooless battery door
- sits nice on guns
- looks nice
- 2 floor plates
- can reload with paint still in hopper(220 plate)

Cons
- putting it back together is a pain the first few times you do it

Pros: Large Capacity, Gentle Feeding System, Fast
Cons: May take some getting used to
I've been using my Magna Drive Loader for about four months. It's been through many practices (and a tournament) and I've found it to be one fantastic loader. I previously had a Gangstar chipped Vlocity and have had plenty of dealings with Halo series loaders, so the following is a culmination of all my opinions.

Shape
The loader sits a bit farther back than the normal style loaders. It's closer to your face, but I've never had an instance of it hitting my face. It just doesn't extend past my gun (Bob Long Vice) far enough. If it were to hit my face, it would mean I'm not holding my gun right. I have a good 2 inches of clearance regardless. With this I'm able to play tighter in bunkers and that's a big plus since I usually work the snake. Some people don't like it, so this is definitely something you may have to learn to get used to.

Capacity
This thing holds more than most loaders on the market. I use the higher-capacity reserve floor. I don't see any reason not to use the reserve tray, since I find myself actually using the reserve paintballs during crucial moves. Reloading is less often, so you spend more time shooting the guy in front of you. Chances are, he'll run out of paint before you do.

Speed
This thing will load fragile paint faster than you could ever need it to. Three words sum it up. Mind Blowing Speed.

Technology
The Magna Drive is hands down, the best loading system within paintball. It can feed paint fast, but it can also be gentle on those fragile tournaments paintballs. The clutch system is a very ingenious system. Being able to control the slipping of the clutch is a god send for everyone. All Halos should have this system from now on. Coupled with the Magna RF Board and its spring tension monitoring settings, there's nothing else in paintball that can beat this. You have to give props to Empire. They make an amazing product. Newer Magnas will have a spring lid and Empire Freeway standard.

Price
At $150, the Magna is costly even without the $40 RF transmitter for your marker. This loader is for the pure performance addict, who will pay anything to have the best performing set-up on the field. For all technology packed into the loader, I believe the price point is very appropriate.

Final Opinion
Between all the loaders I've dealt with, I think the Magna is leagues above the rest. I honestly can't find many reasons to bash this loader. If the price were dropped about $50, everyone on the market would have one. There are many purists who still cling to the conventional loader shapes and not the swept back design. I seldom still find myself wanting Magna Internals within a Reloader B Shell, but then I think about losing the 220 capacity and ability to play tighter within bunkers. That's when I fall in love with my Magna all over again. If you have the money and you demand pure performance, spring for the Magna.

i just got the loader only recently and i really can say i love it

the only downside it how tricky it is to work it with the reballs

as with paint it is soooooo fast and the rf is AWSOME

the body style helps alot with wrapping around bunkers and the feedneck is great for playing the snake

i would highly reccomend it to put on any high end marker

Pros: Nice feed rate, kinda reliable
Cons: Breaks super easy for no reason
I had this hopper for maybe two games. Worked great the 1st and 2nd game, then on the 3rd for absolutely no reason what-so-ever, the feed tube for it snapped in half. I didn't get shot in the hopper, I didn't slam it into the ground, the thing was babied. It broke for no reason at all.

A couple months later, my buddy who was using a different Magna experienced the same exact issue I did. He wasn't hit, didn't slam it, nothing. If you get one of these, baby the living daylights out of it or you will have issues.

Empire Magna Drive Loader The magna is a great loader. IT feeds fast and consistent. The only issues I came across were that balls get stuck on an edge on the front of the loader.

Forward

I've played with a halo, empire b, b2, vlocity, xsv vlocity and revy. Until recently i had the xsv vlocity and empire b2. I sold my b2 so i could give the magna a try.

Pros

Compared to the b2 very little. It does feed a bit faster and is a bit smoother, but is mostly the same. It is a empire so it works great and is very reliable. The sliding battery door is nice.

Cons

I don't think the price is worth the difference between b2 and the magna. I did not like the back set feeling of the loader. To me feel is almost everything and i did not like the feel of how it sat on the gun. The programming is nice but it is the same on the b2. I also hated the assembly and disassembly. The tray in the loader and the battery door suck to take apart and put back together.

Summery

I ended up selling my magna and buying another b2. I would recommend buying a B or b2 and not the magna. If you really want to give it a shot try one out first before you spend the 150 to buy it.

This is a nice hopper, its fast and thats about it. Its hard to put back together, a pain to clean, way more complicated than it needs to be (who needs to have magnetic clutch, basicly just to change for reballs). Very noticable how it makes the gun back heavy and with the price u pay u think they can at least give u the RF. Plus the throwback is just annoying. I would say just buy a vlo or anything else.

i bought the magna loader the week it came out cause i thought it was gonna be the coolest thing ever.....WRONG!

the loader is very hard to clean and even harder to put back together!

if you play tight and use a small tank AVOID THIS HOPPER! i cant remember how many times the back of the hopper hit my mask!

if the price was maybe $70 id say pick it up but for a price of $160 id say STAY AWAY......just go buy a halo and put the clutch kit in!
