Cons: Nothing
Upgrading your eyes is one of the first things most users upgrade. It's simple and cheap. There is one type of upgrade sensor board by Virtue called Virtue Laser Eyes. One of the main perks of having these that, unlike the stock eyes, there is an actual LED that allows you to make sure your eyes are working. With the stock eyes, it's all guess and check but with these a quick glance down the feedneck and your set. They also come with a lifetime warranty, which doesn't hurt either. They come in three different LED colors: blue, green, and red and retail for 30$. They recently released a new version for the Axe, make sure you are purchasing the right version. The Virtue board for the Axe also has a lighter microswitch.

Pros: Dual sensors
Cons: Why isn't this stock?
You know the brand.

You know their products.

You've used their stuff, or someone you know does.

They do what they advertise: colored "laser" lights up, which is cool if you don't have your hopper attached and you're sitting in a darkened room (or outside after dark). You'll likely never see the colored light as long as you have paint in your hopper (only works if the eyes are blocked), and the light's too dim to really see from far away down the barrel of an empty breech.

Other than that, they're pretty cool, not too expensive an up.

One very IMPORTANT thing to note with the Mini - the Virtue board may not fit the body cutout as well as the OEM board, more noticeable on early versions of the Mini. If you install the board, but the marker fails to register trigger pulls, it is most likely because the board didn't install flush with the body. Using my Dremel, I carefully sanded the top edge of the board down until it dropped in snugly without warping in the middle.

Do you need it? Nah. But you can't go wrong with Virtue.

Virtue Paintball Invert Mini Laser Eyes These are an excellent upgrade for you Mini. They use less battery and look awesome with their LED light to show if they are working. My battery lasts a lot longer now with these than the stock eyes.

Pros: Less problematic than stock
Cons: none at all
I don't personally use the Mini eyes, but do have the Axe eyes. I recommend the Mini eyes to many players at the field though as they tend to have much fewer problems reading any color shell and tend to not mess up in the middle of game play. With the variety of shell colors from white to dark colors it really is a necessary upgrade from the stock version.

Pros: Laser can be seen, better battery life
Cons: Tight fit.
I've been using these laser eyes for a while now. They work great. Being able to see whether the eyes are actually working or not is very handy while troubleshooting at the field. The downside is that sometimes the board can be a very tight fit inside the gun, especially if the two eyes themselves are even slightly misaligned onto the board. I haven't had any problems from it, just be careful when putting the board in and out of the body.
