I got my DM12 in, I belive end of January, start of February 2012.
It was my first High-end gun (considering Empire Axe and Mid-end)
and I remeber shooting it out of the box. Playing with it out of box
was a way better shoot and feeling gun then I ever had shot at that
point. Since I had about non experience with dwell and LPR, I didn't
change that before playing with it for atleast 10 months. Actually I never even had to. The gun shot so nice, and smooth out of box, and after breaking it in it was so sweet.
After shooting it for 2 years straigth, I finally diecided to get a new gun, and I've ended up with the DM14, but the DM12 will always stay in the gearbag, incase I need a awesome shooting machine if I get any trouble with the new gun.

I recommand getting a nicely used DM12 if you don't have the cash for anything new.

Cons: see review
Have been using the dm12 for about 8 months now. I have yet to have a problem with this gun. As long as you clean and relube the bolt it seems to be very reliable. Personally, I think it has a great feel in the hands, and like the amount of weight it has, feels really solid.
I also I'm a fan of the eye pipe system. I have yet to have a problem with the eye pipes/detent system and if you break paint, which so far I have broken one ball with this gun, they are very easy to pull out clean and then put back in.
The lpr is also a good addition over other spool valve markers in this category, it gives you the option to tune the marker to your feel or you can set it at recommended and forget about it completely.
I also like the grips. Not only are they very comfortable, because of the tooless removal it is very easy to clean them/gun after a day of play. The only con with the grips is that the front reg grip is pretty fragile and can tear easily if you arent careful when putting it on especially around the macro line fitting.

Overall a great gun, if you are considering getting this gun and are willing to maintain the bolt (clean and relube) I would not hesitate to pick one up. For what these sell for used, I don't think there is a better deal.

I really do love this marker. I almost switched to DM when the DM5 was out but went elsewhere and then took a hiatus from pb. But being my first DM marker i've had a very good experience with it. The appearance and grips are my favorite things about this marker. I've owned other high ends and never understood how grips could be so uncomfortable on some of them. The performance of this marker is great except i would recommend changing to better o-rings. The stock o-rings didnt seem to function as well as the others i put on. Maybe the issues i had with the o-rings in the beginning was just mine but once changed the gun performed magnificently. I bought mine new but for a bit less than retail and compared to other high ends i think it was a good value for the product. Bolt is the easiest ive had to deal with and its a spoolie which is my personal pref.

Pros: Price
Cons: Eye Pipe System
The new magnetic quick release bolt system is one of the really cool and convenient new features on this gun. A magnetic assembly extends the back cap away from the marker slightly as it is unscrewed. This makes it much easier to get a grip on the back cap and remove the bolt assembly without tools. This design makes it very easy to access and maintain the marker.

The milling on the DM12 looks very nice. The bolt sleeve can be seen through the body which adds a nice accent look to the marker. The color schemes that Dye released for the DM12 paintball guns blend very well and look amazing.

The Dm12 comes with Dyes Eye Pipe System. This eye system makes sure the eyes are functioning even if there is dirt or paint/shell in the breach. It uses part of the bolt to wipe and clean the eye with each firing cycle. This is a very cool state of the art feature that Dye has implemented.

The 2012 Dye Matrix also comes with an adjustable LPR. This is a very unique feature for spool valve markers, and really makes the marker fire smooth and quiet. This design lets the paintball gun shoot at a very low operating pressure. Dye says around 60-70 Psi. With the LPR, the DM12 is a very smooth, consistent and air efficient paintball gun.

The Dm12is amazing in my eyes. People complain its not small enough, but you must remember its one of the few spool valves to use a low pressure regulator which lets you fine tune this marker so well. The new looks in my opinion looks the best out of previous models and the new grips and reg grips make it so comfy in the hands! Along with being air efficient it just shoots great
