So recently I went back to pump play after trading a PE Geo + for a CCM T2. After a few days of play a friend asked me to break in his Sniper be cause he did not have time.

The stroke is not as smooth as a CCM pump stroke but it is still a nice stroke. It shot very consistent and I had no problems through out the day. The backs were a nice touch (only complaint I had was the bore size should be etched in) as was the stock class feedneck. The pump handle seems small and ackward but really is not as bad as I had expected, but if some makes an after market pump handle I would probably upgrade it to a new one. The T-Rail asa is a nice touch making it more robust as this is something PE has been doing for a little while.

Overall I was impressed enough to get my own. I still reach for my T2 over the sniper it makes the decision a little bit tougher some days.

Pros: Value!
Cons: Initial availability. Colorways.
My experience with this new Sniper is somewhat limited, but I know I'm also one of the first 100 people to play with it. Empire has done a fantastic job assembling this package with barrel kit, on/off ASA, clamping feedneck, autotrigger and spring feed all included. For the money, you will be hard-pressed to find a better value in any new gun, pump or semi.

Despite cold weather paint issues, the new Sniper's performance has been on par with high-end and custom built snipers on the field. The action is smooth (though a bit heavy for this connoisseur) and the handle has a slim, yet ergonomic feel. The frame and grips are comfortable, but its palmswell grips may prove too thick for some players. While the trigger breaks clean and short, it is blade-style, which threw this reviewer off initially. Autotrigger action is smooth enough to consider a powered loader for those intense games, and the clamping feedneck is attractive and sturdy enough to handle any loader you choose. The colors and dust finish available are nice, but still a bit limited. At the time of this review, only gunmetal/black guns are available from the factory. It seems other companies will be anodizing several guns separately of Empire.

While it will be a while (this being November 2011) before the gun is fully released, I can see multitudes of players jumping on the pumpwagon with this new Sniper. The price point is perfect for those not sure about making the jump between throwing a pump kit on a cocker and buying something high-end. The Empire Sniper has established the mid-range in the pump market, and isn't likely to lose its footing soon.

Overall this gun is a great value, you get a lot in the box. It isn't as custom as other high end pumps but it gets the job done well, and is very versatile.

Pros: Value, mid-end pump
Cons: Minor and nitpicky
The Empire Sniper was my first real paintball gun (beyond the tippmann A5; a beast, but an antiquated beast at best) that I picked out for two reasons: I thought it was beautiful, and I'm cheap and don't like shooting a case a day. I honestly couldn't be happier with the sniper for the price. Since I'd never shot a CCM, I didn't know what I was missing. The pump stroke is fairly nice, the barrel kit, hitman mod, and autotrigger out of the box are awesome. My only complaints are minor, and partially due to me as a player (I'm hitman mod dependent.) First, with the mod on the handle it is awkward to hold properly; I figured out how to make it comfortable but it took a little bit, and second, if you fail to pump allllll the way back, the pump handle will sometimes get stuck in the back position. To fix it, just repump it completely, but its still a minor annoyance. The macroline has a tendency to leak a little when airing it up (even straight out of the box new) and just takes a bit of messing with it to get it to seal, and the gun farts when holding the pump handle forward. Honestly, this could be partially due to me and simply be a tuning issue; I know nothing about tuning the gun and have yet to try. Finally, I wish I could just shoot through a break... for some reason, a break is endgame if you don't have a squeegie or swab on you with this gun. Appearance and pump handle... take them how they are, they're too personal of issues for me to review. All in all, I the sniper is the only mid-end pump that I would recommend to someone simply because of how nice it shoots and what it comes with for the price.

Great marker for the price, offering a full barrel kit and hitman mod the Empire Sniper is a great mid range pump. The pump arm is a little stiff by most pump player's standards but for what it is worth this marker works just fine on the field. Great price, it is hard to pass up with only a few other markers performing better than this one.
