Cons: A little heavy, MacDev Customer Service is weak
I really like the Drone DX. When compared to other markers in its category (Axe, Mini, Etek), I feel the Drone blows others out of the water.

It shoots so smooth for a mid-level tourney marker. Once broken in it is pretty decent on air.

The ease of maintenance is another benefit. Once it has gone through about 4 cases of paint I can have it stripped down and cleaned in under 10 minutes. The reg is just as easy.

The only real complaint I have is the CS support. They are hit or miss. If MacDev can improve on this I feel they will be one of the top marker manufacturer.

Pros: Great price, reliable, fast, looks (imo), service
Cons: trigger
Ok so I have had this gun for about one year and thus far I really like it.

Case-
Very nice hard case, comes with full colour manual, orings and allen key set

Looks-
personally I think it looks really cool, really just depends on ur taste. Overall milling and paintjob is VERY high quality, hard to scratch

Board-
comes with LED board out of box. It's ok but u can get a clone vx oled board for it if you like I did and its very easy to use and program.

Efficiency-
Can get a good 8 or 9 pods from a 68 fill

Kick-sound-
The gun operates at 100 psi (which is very low considering dms are like 300) that means that is is quiet and easy on paint. It was on par sound wise as my good friend with who owns a bob long insight ng and I can shoot $60 cases of paint no problem. Kick wise its is pretty good it does move but not too much. It is comparable with an ego 10 or 11.

Trigger-
This is where one of my biggest gripes is the trigger is kind of ****. It has side to side play and is noisy. Comfort wise it is ok but get a violent trigger and you will be very happy, all the problems will disappear

Reliability-
Now for me this is most important than anything else in a gun. I dont care if it shoots 100 bps, gets 50 pods efficiency is gold platted and diamond in-crusted if the damn thing dosent work nothing else maters and I can say without a doubt the Macdev Drone dx gets this spot on . For me it has had almost no problems. Had fsdo once or twice but a quick lube change and anti bolt stick raise should do the trick. Some people say they have problems but I have had none, as long as you TAKE CARE OF YOUR GUN it will work well. Damn its not that hard some guns are easier to take care of then others and this one is not too hard. The bolt has like 8 orings and only 3 of them are dynamic and need to be replaced and the gladiator reg is very easy to work on compared to luxe, dm vanquish etc.

Overall I would take this gun over an axe, etha, etek, proto, dp or other any day. Since Macdev is such a high end company even their mid range guns are very good and work well. This is pretty much a clone vx because it has the exact same: Feedneck, regulator, barrel, detents and you can buy and install the VX clone board into this gun. It is like a re-release of the clone VX and if you look at the two side by side, you will hardly know which is which. If you are looking for a mid range gun that can perform like a highend get the drone dx it is better than all others in its category.

Pros: light, smooth, on point
Cons: ASA on/off
Ok so iv had this gun about 8 months now and iv played a few turnaments with and its not bad but its not the best eaither. I would only use it for PSP because the trigger honestly is one of the worst triggers iv had on a gun. if you wana use it in NPPL you need a new trigger or a new gun thats up to you. Iv put well over a 100 cases of paint through mine and I can honestly say iv only had about 6 or so brakes and i use high end and low end paint. It dose really well on air i can get a hopper and 6 pods through it. Ok now for my main Con. The ASA is something iv never seen before and never wana see agian honestly. its you loose air when you screw it in.

Cons: Not much
I have a limited edition jungle camo Drone DX with Clone VX board, Militia 2.0 software, and Clone VX grips. Once you add the Clone VX board and grips, you really take out the only negatives of the stock gun (i.e. no oled and cheap grips). My Drone DX has been smooth, easy on paint, and very reliable. The jungle camo also looks pretty cool. Great job on this one MacDev.

I bought the Drone DX used, but only just.

Great shooting gun, very quiet and not bad on efficiency. I really dont care for the grips, since they feel very thick, and sorta cheap. I might put a clone grip and board in there. The gun is a little chunky fealing, but I can't really fault it for the price level. Great drivetrain, much simpler then the Driod.

Pros: Good ergonomics, consistent shot, efficiency
Cons: Appearance, parts kit (lack there of)

The Drone DX is definitely a solid mid level gun. After its break-in period (about 9-10 cases) it really starts to shine. With a good bore-to-paint match I have gotten +/- 5 fps on the chrono, and occasionally better than that. For a mid-level marker that is phenomenal. Overall the Drone is pretty reliable and the spool system is fairly simple. A word of warning, make SMALL adjustments to the regulator, or you will quickly over-pressurize the gun and blow up a solenoid (first hand experience).

Pros:
Cheap
Quality build
Consistent/efficient
Good Barrel
Good packaging
Nice and comfortable to hold

Cons:
IMO terrible trigger
Complete lack of parts kit (3 o-rings)
Manual could be more detailed, but is by no means horrible

Upgrades:
Violent Trigger (Really all it needs)
Buy an O-ring kit

Conclusion:
If you want a nice spoolie that won't break the bank, the Drone DX is what you want.

Pros: Cheap, efficient, smoother, easy to clean
Cons: Not the fanciest milling, no oled from factory
The drone dx is easily the best bang for your buck gun. This and the axe are two guns that are impossible to beat in the price range.

You get the clone vx feedneck, regulator, and asa. based off a clone / rx frame. Accepts clone oled boards, screens, and grips, and aftermarket clone triggers. Wonderful upgrades for the gun. Gun is super smooth and has a unique shot sound. So much smoother and nicer than any Geo. Gun is RIDICULOUSLY easy to maintain. Has almost no o rings on the drivetrain, any dummy can work / fix this gun. Regulator is the simplest in the game. Not as smooth as a clone by any means, but this gun is hard to beat especially now you can buy brand new for 429.00 with a new psp updated board
