Infinity paintballs have a thicker shell which makes it very durable and perfect for the entry level marker. Infinity paint was designed and priced to be straight-shooting and affordable; it's the best paintball you can get for the price!

Pros: Good packaging, reliable shell
Cons: Somewhat hard, light fill
Valken Infinity is a great value for budget-minded players, not in the tourny scene. Comes in (what I've seen anyways) yellow shell yellow fill, and orange shell orange fill.

The amount of packaging is practically overkill, considering this is rec grade. You got the standard outer box, 4 cardboard inner dividers for each bag, sealed plastic bags (the thick plastic kind), and a silica/dessicator in each bag.

This is rec grade paint, so as expected, the shell is hard and the fill is on the light side. The light fill does make for easy cleanup. You will occasionally find dimpled balls, but shouldn't be anything deep. You may get bounces at long ranges.

Overall, Infinity is just a great value paint.

Price paid: $40.00
Pros: Excellent roundness, high vis, and superb marking
Cons: Recent batches are very small - around 0.675"
Compared to other budget paints, Infinity is by far my favourite value ball. Unlike other similarly priced products like X-ball Inferno and the like, it's much rounder with a smaller, less protruding seam. I measured the maximum seam height at 0.005", compared to 0.003" on RPS Marballizer and 0.009" on X-Ball Inferno.

The shell also seems to be much thinner, making long distance breaks more reliable, and bounces (potentially) less likely. The all-yellow shell colour is also super-high visibility, making it easy to correct your aim mid-stream. I found it much more visible mid-flight than many multi-colour shells (white/green, white/pink, etc).

On the downside, the shell size seems to be getting smaller in recent batches - not a huge issue, except that it means 90% of stock barrels and even most after market systems in the 0.684" and up range will be too large to shoot accurately and efficiently. For example, the Stock 0.688" UL barrel on my Dye DMs showed a small FPS decrease over using a properly-sized Deadlywind barrel with 0.682" Stainless Freak insert.

Testing 5 balls from each bag in 4 different cases (80 balls total) with a set of Mitutoyo calipers yielded a minimum diameter of 0.6705" and a maximum of 0.6778". Most balls fell into the mean size of 0.675", which represents a standard deviation of +/-0.008%, which is excellent, and in line with other high end paints I've measured such as RPS Marballizer (0.003%), and significantly better than X-Ball Inferno (0.012%).

* Note that I tested all balls indoors @ 25C, humidity 62%. I have not tested size changes due to swelling or contraction in hot/humid/cold weather.

While roundness is good, it is not perfect nor uniform (though I haven't measured a paintball that is), and combined with the slightly thinner shell, requires the use of 0.682" bore to maximize efficiency while minimizing the potential for barrel breaks. Smaller bores may prove slightly more efficient, at the risk of breaking balls occasionally or in inclement weather.

All in all, this should be considered the go-to paint for serious weekend rec-ballers looking to walk-on with their own paint, or outlaw players looking for a significantly superior paint that is only slightly more expensive than big-box paintballs.

Valken Sports Infinity by Fight Co watery fill, no smell, no oil in bags, small bore 684 ish, but have to use larger bore due to how brittle it is. bright fill, consistant from batch to batch. great rec grade/practice paint

Shot this paint off and on for most of the 2011 season. This paint is very consistent .684 out of the box with only slight swelling after a day in the heat and humidity. Shell is fairly round and can be underbored slightly and holds up well in everything from Ego's to Tippmann 98s. The fill is thin and the pigments are not the brightest and can stain clothing.

Shot this paint quite a bit. Shoots pretty straight, bore is good (not huge, not tiny), the fill sucks tho. It doesnt come off of bunkers or whatever. Once it starts to dry its like corn syrup and flour and it gets baked on the bunkers bad. Otherwise it washes out of clothes fine. Just make sure u get this cleaned of any gear etc right away so it doesnt dry on.

Ive always been a fan of Valken paint, and this is no exception. Its always shot great for me. The paint usually bores pretty smoothly and I usually find no oddly shaped/dimpled balls. They use great packaging and the balls are never oily. They break decently, and the fill is pretty good. Great overall practice paint.
