only gun ive shot for more than a year and wont be changing any time soon.

I had an A1 for about half a season .. With the 2.2 Software and recent eye covers (the last 1 piece model before the 3 piece came out)
INTRO
Shooting the Marker there is very little vibration, slight noise, and barrel rise is un-noticeable similar to a DM ...Very impressive .. The feel of the marker seems a bit bulky at the top with the 3 tube design .. in fact, it kind of got in my line of sight when snapping .. easy adjustment since it fits in your hand so well
HIGHLIGHTS
Has a sleek Barrel Kit that is extremely well honed, therefore, accurate .. my entire thing is about the surface of the inside barrel being smooth is what gives great accuracy .. that and ALWAYS WEARING TALL T's ..
The ASA is the greatest thing since sliced bread .. best ASA out with the BL Xpress Knock off ..
Detents- I think they kind of suck because ball bearing detents last forever ..
OLED and Scroll wheel - if you can use an IPOD .. you can definitely use this
Feedneck is awesome .. clamping, low profile ..
Trigger - has a nice feel to it .. but I hate optical switches yet I could live with this one ...
KISS Bolt - Better than the knock off pillow bolt you won't chop
Self Cleaning eyes .. yes they really do work .. not as well as the Eye pipes in DM's but very efficient
MESS UPs
Software ... my marker had a hard time ramping .. in fact it didn't ramp .. and I would like 3 shot burst PSP Ramp to work please .. I just had a problem with my board that the WORTHLESS National event techs could never fix. I finally forced them to swap boards out, and the gun would stop shooting in the middle of games .. BAD BOARD
1 Piece eye covers FTL .. thank god they made 3 piece eye covers
I DESPISE their reg .. not bc it is only LP .. BC it is a pain to take apart! need c clip pliers
Metric Allen wrenches .. ughh I sometimes .. sometimes get the allen wrenches mixed up even though a nice tool kit in a crafty tool box is included
Screws are easy to strip even with right allen wrench .. the big LP screw especially .. and it costs $12 to replace that one screw
THINGS GONE UN-NOTICED
Although their national event techs should never touch your marker, Franz at HQ gives you all the personal attention you could want .. he truly is a great guy that will do whatever it takes to make you a happy APS customer .. WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!!!
Taking apart the marker is so much easier than the manual dictates .. A LOT EASIER
All the aftermarket parts coming out for other markers are all standard on the A1, and now you can buy an A1 for $450 .. Definitely, something to look at if you are in the $400-$500 range because the marker needs no other ups

IMHO .. Within price range, I would take an A1 over:

Man all I can say is this thing is fast. Right out of the box, it shoots ropes. There isn't a better buy than the angel 1 for the price. The manual is kind of confusing on if it runs on HP or LP, but just be safe and use LP.
Accessing the modes are very easy, all one has to do is move the toggle switch on the back of the grip frame. No more having to take the grips off in order to change modes, or lock it down for tournaments.
The angel 1 has a very solid feel, and it feels as if it will stand up to a beating. Everything is machined and designed well, so I wouldn't worry about breaking it if you dive hard or play hard.
The manual clearly states that the angel 1's asa is not meant to have a drop forward on it. If you do so, you will run the risk of breaking the frame.. Besides you don't need a drop, this thing is small enough for even the smallest players.
All in all, the angel 1 is very sold, and is a very great gun for the price range. It has any firing mode one may need or ever want. Do not hesitate to purchase this marker.

The A1 is by far one of my favorite markers, for several reasons. It's incredibly fast and small, and relatively light. It's OLED screen make programming modes and settings easier than almost any other marker. Maintenance is as simple as giving it some oil every few cases, and greasing some components maybe 2 times a year. It's efficiency is slightly worse than an Ego, but also has much less kick than the Ego. It has better efficiency than most Spools, but has slightly more kick.
Some people may consider the HP/LP issue a con, but it was not for me as my tank has a Myth (mid-pressure) reg which works fine as well. Other than that, I see no real cons to it.
I give it a 5 for appearance because I think it's one of the nicest looking markers available
I give it a 4 for performance, ONLY because, like EVERY other marker, there is room for improvement
I give it a 5 for reliability because it has never gone down on me.
I give it a 5 for value because they can be had for $400 now, maybe even less, making it an incredible value for such a meager sum.

Just picked up an angel 1 NIB having wanted one since they were released but waiting for prices to come down a bit. I have 4000 shots through it so far and I have really enjoyed shooting it. When I got it I noticed the rail at the back of the frame was cracked so that it is a little loose, when it starts affecting my play I'll get it milled off for a small fee but the design could be better. I also noticed that the one time I had a barrel break the barrel didn't shoot clean as fast as I would have liked but that isn't a big deal at all since I don't expect many breaks at all with this gun. It's getting decent efficiency but not what I'm used to with poppet style guns. I know they have an upgrade coming that addresses this but mine has been getting better every time I shoot it so when it breaks in it may be fine as is. I like the build and easy maintenance and it has shot as well as every gun I have owned except for my highly upped FS8. I will be keeping it awhile for sure and will edit when I get it broken in.

It's simply the most advanced marker on the planet period. I can imagine how they will improve upon this baby except possibily by putting a higher quality stock barrel with it. I have had it 2 years now and I'm still amazed by it...you can be stupid with your money and spend more but your getting nothing but your pride stroked for doing it. My son had an Ego and that thing was no where close to the tack driver this thing is. he now has an A1 like dad and his brother. In my opinion the best value in the industry for high level markers.
