Angel Paintball Sports Angel 1My team was sponsored by Angel and we shot A1's, the first tournament we shot the A1, 4 out of the 7 guns went down throughout the day. I would not recommend this gun.

I owned this gun a while ago in 2008 i think. But It was a cool gun , very fast and super easy on paint.. it is a little heavy and the trigger is going to be a hit or miss, but nowadays if theyre dirt cheap, which I bet they are, I would pick one up without thinking.

Well when I bought this gun broken I was expecting very little from it due to its cheapness. I sent it out to an MT and he replaced all the broken parts. Once I got it back I ran about a case through it and the only complaint I had was kit. I adjusted the settings a bit and kick reduced some but it was still more then most guns in the high end range. On my first tourney with this gun I was amazed on how easy it was to snap with. Laning was also an easy thing to do because this gun shoots ropes
Overall great gun

I was never a fan of Angels back in the day, but my team was picked up by APS a little less than a year ago, so most of us started shooting the A1. A lot of guys will talk up their sponsor's stuff as if it were the best thing ever, even if its not. I'm gonna be dead honest with you guys. These are really great guns, not perfect, but I am definitely a believer in the Angel now and don't intend to change guns for quite a long time.
Every person on our team is really happy with their A1s. The few problems we've had with the guns have been minor, and were easily fixed. Unlike a lot of people think, they are easy to work on. All you really have to do is put a couple drops of lube in the ASA every once and a while, and your set. The A1 manual is amazing, much better than any others I've seen. The board is great, and super easy to adjust using the blackberry scroll wheel and OLED screen. The thing I had the toughest time working on were removing the eye covers, but APS has since fixed that problem with their new 3-piece eye covers.
As for appearance, its milling isn't over the top, its subtle with nice smooth lines. And their available in tons of different anodizing colors, fades, and finishes. Some people might like their guns to be a little more flashy, but I like it the A1 the way it is.
I was pleasantly surprised at how small and light the A1 is, there not nearly as big as the older ones. The A1 is very well balanced and feels very comfortable in your hands. The trigger is amazing, which has always been the best part of Angels. Super fast and consistent. It could be more air-efficient though (not a big deal nowadays with all-day air)
My biggest grip with WDP/APS is their tendency to "over-engineer" parts of the gun to make them different than anything else thats currently out on the market. Some parts of the gun could have been a whole lot more simple. For example, the rail / ASA system, and the eye-cover setup. the ASA itself rocks, I like it a lot. But the built-in rail is garbage. First, you have to mount the ASA in the middle of the rail, completely defeating the purpose of even having a rail (adjustability). And I have seen the unique cone-shaped screws that are used to tighten the rail break on numerous A1s (including mine). I ended up putting a direct mount ASA on mine. Or you can just mount an aftermarket rail to the grip frame using standard grip frame screws. Some people go so far as to cutting the built in rail off to reduce the height of the gun.
My shot counter is currently at 34,904 (almost 18 cases), and I haven't chopped a single ball in the breach. The eyes work great and the A1 can shoot super brittle paint. I've had some barrel breaks, but its always been due to bad paintballs, or paint that broke in my hopper on a bad dive. The stock barrel is pretty damn good, but all the backs are large bore. If you get the barrel expansion kit, you get 3 additional backs (all smaller than the stock ones) and a 16" tip. With the full Angel barrel kit, you're set. It shoots super straight and through breaks pretty well (a bit above average). I don't plan on getting a different barrel, unless Powerlyte comes releases a Scepter back with A1 threads.
If you're into customizing your guns with aftermarket parts, the A1 isn't for you. There aren't many aftermarket parts out there for an A1, but this is for a good reason.... the A1 doesn't need em. The only one thats worth buying is the CP vert. reg adapter if you're not a fan of the stock mini-reg and want to use a HP output tank.
The resale value is horrible, it always has been for Angels because they're notorious for releasing new versions really often. This is good if you want to pick up a used one, but bad if you ever want to sells yours. A used A1 in good working order is an amazing deal. Check to see if it has 1st or 2nd gen internals though, the first generation A1s weren't quite as reliable and had some problems, which is why some people just wrote off the A1 as a bad gun. The 2nd gen A1s are great.

I've owned and shot my a1 since July of 06.
Over 300 cases later, it performs better than it ever has.
In 07 I got the version 2 parts and since then the biggest problem I've had is a few o rings and valve stems needed replacement.
Its been tough, reliable, fast, and easy to shoot for years now. I love it. And will continue to shoot it. I will be purchasing the newest part kit Angel is releasing and edit my review. As long as you read the manual before you touch anything....you'll have an unstoppable gun for a long time.
-Off my 68/45 I get 10 pods and a hopper which has always been plenty for me.
+2,-2 over the chrono
no noticable kick
