The only con that i have is the barrel is not really accurate, so buy a boomstick or a freak.

I would consider it a decent speedball starting up gun.
It does use the same eye pipe technology as in the dm9
supposedly it is good in cold weather and can also use co2 although I haven't tested for those two.
It does use the wired eye system
the board has all the modes that one would need
and visually it is pretty sleek... kinda
my cons would be that
it used a steel line instead of a macroline, (I swore off co2 so to me it is worthless) by default the asa gets bunched in here too
the trigger, trigger frame, and on/off buttons, I don't like the composite UL frame
Feedneck would be better if it was a clamping lever feedneck
and the 1piece barrel is not very good
it was a fun marker to shoot but you are left wanting more out of the marker.
only really recommended for those that want to try out speedball but don't want to spend alot of $$$

Other than the screw type locking feedneck, 11" stock barrel, and the airport with no on/off, this gun is absolutely beautiful and shoots just as nice and quiet as anything. I like my 2011 rail more than my 2009 proto PMR. It is light, has many new features such as the eyepipe. You can upgrade the feedneck, barrel, and airport for about $120 and you will basically have a gun that could take you anywhere and last a lifetime. I would recommend this gun to anybody. Mine came with a defective board, sent it to dye. They took care of it fast and no problems. Even with that set back I still love this gun. I have played airball with it a few times and probably won't be using my 09 pmr anymore. This gun is light!!!

Like many have already said, protos new addition to the 'pmr' family is surprisingly a very decent, affordable, and smooth shooting marker. The milling on the body of the marker is definitely attractive and looks sleek (especially in black) - when compared to other markers in it's price range, (G4, Mini) it's about the same in size. Despite claims that it's 'just another SLG', the 2011 pmr operates in a way completely different than than the SLG, providing that the 2011 pmr is an actual spoolie, whereas the SLG was a sear tripper. This makes the new rail one of the smoothest markers I have ever shot. It is also noticeably quieter than many of the markers on the market. The eye pipe and the hyper 3 regulator (Both present in older models and its big brother, the 'Reflex') have already proven themselves. The Eye pipe makes maintaining the breech easier for newer players without the hassle of losing screws for eye covers, and the Hyper 3 shoots very, very consistently.
This being said, there are also cons:
The bolt system is a major PAIN IN THE BUTT to remove. It's almost like Dye didn't want you to take it out. If you aren't careful, you'll tear one of the many O-rings on the bolt itself. There are many, many o-rings (considering that it is a spool valve), and the bolt LOVES lube more than your mother on Saturday nights. Make sure to clean and lube the marker before and after every day of play. The rail also does not give you the luxury of an on/off asa, and gives you a steelbraided hose instead of macroline (Have no clue why they did this), which makes it difficult to clean and maintain the reg and airlines. The frame and feedneck is also composite, which sucks.
Overall, it's a good marker. If you don't love it enough, it'll go down on you (the bad way)
