AKALMP VikingThe viking was the best paintball gun ever made. It shot so straight, fast, and was great on air. Besides the weight issues the gun was a beast

Even after almost a decade after AKA had to stop manufacturing new markers due to outside pressure, Vikings are still considered some of the best markers out there by those who have had the chance to experience them. AKA was the pioneer if efficient engineering. I could easily get almost a case and a half from a 60/40.
The one downside is that stock ones are bulky and heavy. But there are a lot of milled ones out there, and destructive customs and some other establishments offer great milling services if you need work done on a stock one.

AKALMP VikingI don't play paintball anymore, but I guarantee I would if I still had this gun. These things are tanks. Pretty much indestructible, and can still be competitive with guns 10 years newer.

I picked up my 03 viking for 200 used from a friend that stopped playing. It had a very low serial number and specific full milling so I called Larry at AKA to ask about it. It turned out to be one of the first 20 made and 1 of 10 with the milling and anno pattern. It's a special thing to be able to talk to the man that made the gun you shoot and you cant do that frequently with most other markers these days.
The viking isn't produced any longer so finding parts can sometimes be hard but there aren't really many made for the guns anyway comparabaly. It's definitely heavier that most other guns made currently and bigger as well. Other than that, the list of pros goes on and on. Efficiency that matches or beats most guns made a decade later. More speed than anyone would ever need in any league. Simplicity of parts and inner workings is very easy to work with. The gun has never had any problems that I can remember. All in all, a very reliable great gun to pick up for anyone.

I am an original owner of an '04 black unmilled viking. These guns are blazing fast, insanely efficient, and beyond reliable. Basically you feed these guns paint, air, batteries, a little oil and twice a year you might fiddle with the board settings. And that's it, period. My particular gun has broken exactly once, requiring a complicated sequence of events and some brute force user error. And I used it broken for half a year. They were way ahead of their time and it was years before other manufacturers could offer something as fast, reliable and efficient. There are a handful of cons to this gun, though. The primary one is weight. Lots of metal was left on the main body, with AKA actually figuring on other companies doing aftermarket milling. Compared to guns on the market now, vikings (seem to) weigh a ton (although they are still quite a bit lighter than the monsterous rigs people used to use in days of drop-fowards and stainless boomsticks.) Other issues are they are not terribly sleek or sexy looking and servicing one requires specialised skill.

AKALMP VikingI have owned 2003 and 2004 vikings and loved them my only issue is they are not made anymore and its getting hard to find people work on them
