Everytime you buy an MR series marker, Kingman decides to upgrade one of the older models, making it better than yours and dropping the value of your marker by 50% When the E MR-1 came out my gun dropped from $250 to $180. The Spyder MR2 dropped to $160. Now that The MR2 with EYES came out, It looks like an MR2 but out performs the MR3. I would put money on it that they're going to make a new and improved MR3 soon so I'd hold out on buying one..
But if you're into scenario and you want a cheap reliable E-Marker that won't jam, get an MR3.
The stock barrel is pretty accurate.
The gun is kind of loud and somewhat intimidating.
It's easy to clean.
It cocks like an M16.
Keep it on semi with eyes and make sure you have an electric hopper and you can keep up with most high end markers.
Capable of firing up to 25bps on semi.
Just make sure you don't over tighten the eye covers. Mine cracked and I had to remake one out of polymer clay.
Also put some Teflon around the screw that holds the t cocking rail on. After firing for half a day it rattled out and I lost it.
Also get the wrap around grips. The stock grips suck.

To many upgrades needed for smooth play, no safety
I have always been a Spyder fan. After not playing for a few years I decided to find a decent high pressure e-marker for a low price. I purchased this marker used so I was not sure what I was getting into, but I knew that I didn't want to spend more than $150.00 on a marker.
The Spyder MR3 is a great e-marker ... WITH upgrades included. I love the 3 firing options: semi (w/eyes), semi (no eyes), and auto. Great for scenario, but not a long range marker. Tends to be a bit loud, but I like markers with some volume. It does not have a safety - just make sure you turn off the firing settings (I almost broke a glass table - nugh said). Appearance is great! It is sleek, easy to paint (if desired), and doesn't need any upgrades. Of course, you do need to remember that the MR3 is the almost fully upgraded version of the MR1.
The problem I found was that the marker, with only stock parts, is only worth the value of its MR1 counterpart. It had very little accuracy, chopped balls constantly, misfires, and needed lots of testing. And unfortunately the Spyder forums can only help so much (things work differently in so many ways).
I had to put an additional $200.00+ (and I did nothing to change it over to a low pressure marker). It is now extremely accurate (played against 3 Tippmann A5 with flatline barrels and was much more accurate) and chops a ball now and then when I get trigger happy on the semi-auto setting. Here are the parts I needed to upgrade to make this marker worthwhile:
barrel, e-hopper (a must for auto to work properly), e-hopper chip, feedneck, springs, bolt, striker
The MR3 is a great marker, but be willing to spend extra on upgrades in order to make this marker worth the price you paid. Also, you have to make sure that you allow that marker to get used (about 2,000 shots) so that the internal parts can work smoothly.
Try not to buy new ... just look for a used one.
