Cons: A bit heavy,
I got the Apex 2 barrel for my GOG G-1, and it looks pretty awesome. I got the 14" version and just wanted to do a brief rundown of the pro's and cons.

Pros:
-Durability: I have fallen on this barrel, smacked it against wooden bunkers when in a firefight, and so on and so forth, and I see no sign of wear or tear or even a suggestion that I've abused it. It's a nice sturdy material and it doesn't feel like its going to crack anytime soon. Something I like about the APEX 2 over the APEX.

-Looks: Frankly it looks awesome, a nice long barrel with a skinny "suppresor" like type makes for the mil-sim look complete.

-Functionality/ease of use- It's incredibly easy to learn how to use the APEX, and getting the APEX 2 is just as easy, now with even more options on how to use it. The 9 clicks of functionality is greater then the 5 of the APEX, and it just means more fun .

Cons-

-Heavy: Let's face it, the stock barrel is pretty heavy. I was surprised when I first handled it, it's not a deal breaker for me (I lug around a 90/45 with a Pinokio with the nose cone as part of my G-1), but for some it might throw them off.

-Tough to Clean: Just like its brethren it's tough to clean. Not as bad as the original, but still enough to be a pain

-Price: Getting the APEX 2 barrel with the tip is pricy, when you can get an original APEX and a FLasc Barrel tip for about half the price. If you want the Apex 2 get it, but if you want ot save money, can't go wrong with the APEX original.

Pros: adjustability, tool-less disassembly
Cons: bulky
Having used my apex2, I've found it to be quite fun to use. One of the remarks people like to say when they see it or shoot my gun is it's like the Matrix.

Curving shots is just plain fun. You do need to be a specific distance to allow the balls to curve or dip. Once you figure out the distance, it's a breeze to use. Dial in the amount of curve to apply and twist the front to direct the spin on the ball, the barrel does the rest.

If you do break a ball in the front part of the barrel, the tip disassembles without tools. Gently but firmly pull the tip apart. It's held in place by 0-rings. To reassemble, you gently press it back on. Simple.

Cons: Didn't fit snugly on my Ion
Good barrel, very light and adds great accuracy over distance. Only thing I don't like is every time I took it off my gun and put it back on, it would be upside-down. The threads weren't very good to match the Ion. Also it sometimes came unscrewed a little if it wasn't really tight.

Pros: Curving, hooking, divebomb
Cons: lot of moving parts
Ok, let me start out with I think this barrel is amazing. I've used it in a scenario, woods, and air ball setting and have gotten consistent results with varying paint. I usually use rec grade paint and when i dial the arc in, I hit where I'm pointing. I said that there's a lot of moving parts, cause well, there's moving stuff...and that can be hard to clean, should you get dirt or paint in there. I have been able to reach distances with my Mini that will startle opponents, and always get a look from the kiddos when I walk out with a paintball marker with a "silencer."

This thing just makes you giggle.

Seriously, slap it on something with a decent rate of fire, like a GEO, and start hooking shots up, down, right, or left at 20bps. Try not to giggle.

The stock barrel is heavy though. Get the UL adapter tip or the Flasc kit.

Pros: extra distance, looks, not picky on paint
Cons: accuracy on 200ft+ targets
Appearance: This is the best looking barrel hands down. i get countless comments on how it looks on my 98c.

Performance: The curve feature on this is great, ive got a couple of hits with it and its easy to adjust during play. The extra distance this give your marker is the reason i got it and it will bring a smile to your face when you see other balls dropping short of you while youre taging them in the face!!

Reliability: Its a barrel.....does as advertised

Value: well worth the money!! get it

Final evaluation: Since it got it it's been the only barrel ive used and im glad i got it. if you use the right paint it will make long distance shots more likely to break. Its not a perfect barrel as nothing is but it close. You can also put this on other aftermarket barrels to give it even better accuracy. 9 of 10

I had an Apex 2 on my X7 Phenom and was simply amazed at the difference, it was night and day! It allows you to extend the range of your shots, curve or dip your shots. Just make sure you run quality paint through it or you will have some issues.

Combine the Apex 2 with a Lapco BigShot barrel and you have a deadly combo.
