I really do like the Axe. I'd say best gun under $600 no doubt and can keep up with the best. Its a nice size gun and is very smooth and accurate. The only bad thing is the barrel. For $460 new they should include a 14 inch barrel. Thats why value gets a 4 star.

Pros: nice shot
Cons: ergonomics
I picked up an Empire Axe to try based on all the stellar reviews it gets. It shoots nice for the price point and has very little kick. It does take some tweaking to get a really nice shot with the stock bolt. I put a $40 Boss V2 bolt in it and that made more of a shot difference. The stock barrel is too short and has too large a bore size (.691). But, barrel and bolt are the only upgrades this gun needs IMO.

The ergonomics of this marker are not to my liking. The battery and circuit board are both housed in the foregrip, making it quite large. The trigger guard is huge and extends all the way to the foregrip, making it somewhat uncomfortable to wrap your hand around the foregrip. I think Empire got a lot of feedback about this as the Axe Pro was designed differently in this area.

Efficiency is pretty good at over 1000 shots from a 68/45. Again, great for the price point but there are better guns out there for just a little bit more.

I've only just bought my Axe and used it twice; but this was after playing with friends who used Axes and had nothing but great things to say about them. Now, after using my own, I too can say these guns live up to the hype. Light, and reliable. This is the first gun I've ever owned that I actually want to keep stock because it preforms so well w/o upgrades. Overall it may not be the lightest, fastest, or best looking gun on the market, but it does probably have the best 'performance to dollar' ratio of any gun on the market.

I got this as my first gun for turnaments and it was amazing. I bought it used and it had a boss bolt in it. It shot smoothish which is probably because of the weight of the marker, I didn't like the stock barrel but for the price you can't go wrong.
