The Axe is easy to tune to maximize efficiency or softness. Will it ever be the most efficient gun on the field- no. But there are plenty of options for you to maximize its performance. Several companies make aftermarket accessories (boards, bolts, eyes, etc.) that allow you to further customize your gun.
Another great stock feature of the Axe is the Relay ASA. A simple lever turns your air on and off. It also has a convenient pressure gauge.
The looks of the Axe are average - nothing special, nothing terrible. It feels good in the hands, which is all personal preference. It comes in a variety of colors, and parts can be switched with other axes to create even more color combos.
For the price, the Empire Axe can't be beat. Out of the box, it's a great gun, and with some extra money spent on aftermarket accessories, it is right up there with the other super guns on the market. If you don't believe me, just take a look at the winners of the 2012 NPPL Huntington Beach tournament - they were using Axes

Empire AxeLove it for the price, but the stock board doesn't save the settings when you change the battery. I put the Redline on and then really enjoyed the marker.

After shooting a luxe for about 3 years, decided to spend my tax return and get an Axe. Needless to say, it may not be as smooth as my luxe but definitely a solid shooting marker. I have no problem picking this marker up over my luxe any day. Aside from the heavy marketing that Empire has invested in with the Pro teams, I honestly feel that Empire have outdone themselves with the Axe. The only thing I'm not to fond of is the inability to service the regulator as it voids the warranty if you try to do so yourself.

used my axe for 2 month now. its my first gun. I absolutely love it.
its not as loud as most guns, pretty easy on air.
if you play around with 3 point adjustable trigger can shoot very nice i achieve easy consistent 20bps.
the only real issue is the standard barrel, the issue with it is that its quite overboard i think its .691 or .693 and i use paint that requires .685
this can be solved by either getting larger paint, or barrel kit. personally use j&j edge ceramic. its awesome .

I have owned my Axe over a year now and glad I bought it. with the addition of a Boss Infamous bolt and a Freak kit, I was able to get better efficiency as well as better consistency once my reg broke in. Value for the dollar is top notch and my Axe performs just as good as any other high end on the market, if not better. What I didn't like is the feed neck over extended once, but fixed that issue with an o-ring, and the shape of the foregrip is a little undesirable due to shape. Other then those nit picking issues, I am happy with my Axe and highly recommend one to any baller on a budget.
