Pros: Great Gun in all regards
Cons: Drivetrain maintence
I've used Clones on and off (V2 and VX) for a while now as my tournament guns. I've always liked them and they've always performed well. They look beautiful and weigh next to nothing. I love the efficiency and feel of the gun.

A small complaint is in the service of the gun. Macdev hasn't returned a call of mine (even though I seem to call at odd hours of the night). I lost the membrane pad and buttons from one and still haven't gotten them replaced. Still useable, just need an allen key to operate the buttons.

Overall I'd say the gun is a great buy and they're fantastic markers, especially considering that you can upgrade the gun to a VX with a few parts.

Pros: Efficient, accurate, easy to maintain/troubleshoot
Cons: Reg screw
I've shot macdev for the last 3 years and won't shoot anything else. My whole team shoots These guns are by far the quietest on the field. They have worked great in both hot/cold weather. The only problem we have ever had is with the reg seat leaking/ and screw to adjust velocity sometimes getting stuck and those have been far and few in between. The VX fixed the problem of feednecks falling off. The drivetrain is easy to take apart and lube and the manual tells you exactly which o-rings to put the militia lube on. The gold bolt has really improved the efficiency of the clones. Shoots nice quiet darts across the field. Best guns I've ever played with and I've shot egos, geos, luxes, dms, nts, axes, and just about every high end gun.

MacDev Clone Vx Loved the gun, one of my most favorite spool valves. Quiet, efficient, super light. Only issue I had was the terrible ergonomics, just wasn't up to par in that aspect as a DM/NT

I was really happy with my Droid, and the Clone was the only thing I would give it up for. The regular Clone shoots outstanding, and the addition of the VX drivetrain makes it even smoother and more efficient. I added an Acid Customs trigger, but that's really just a preference thing.

The new detents are stellar; in the time that I've owned it, all I've had to do is change the o-rings and lube it.

With a Violent Products trigger and magnetic return, it is my favorite trigger system of any marker I've ever used. The stretched length and roomy trigger guard feel fantastic. The trigger frame could have been milled for more of a radius instead of block-like.

Cons: kinda on the heavy side
LOVE my VX. I've owned over 13 high ends from Egos to NTs and the Clone tops them all. Shoots amazing, easy to maintain with toolless drivetrain removal and very few moving o-rings. Shoots great with a very consistent reg. OLED board stock makes it easy to adjust. Macdev's customer service is second to none. I recommend it all the time to people looking for a highend. It's absolutely amazing now that the VX fixed all the little feedneck and detent issues and grip wear problems

Pros: Smooth
Cons: on/off asa, Trigger
Pros...
- Like most spool valves this gun shoots incredibly smooth (given you break it in some)
- The reg has a completely tool-less disassembly.
- Via USB you can update your board at any time.
- Macdev's new assemblys fit previous guns. (So I'm not left in the dust when a new assembly/bolt is released)
- With eyes on I've never chopped a single ball (only one or two barrel breaks) in the 6 months I've had the gun.
- Very lightweight.
- Shoots a tight grouping (not unlike the Luxe)
Cons...
- If you're into cool milling, this gun is pretty standard looking.
- ASA violently vents air during pressurizing and depressurizing.
- Yes, the valve keg o-rings still get nicked up pretty often.
