Pros: cheap, quality, good padding
Cons: sizing is slightly off, not breathable enough
First let me say I'm partial to Valken... I can't quite explain why, I just am. I'm not sponsored by them, I'm not a rep, I just think they make good quality gear at a fair price. And, the V-Tac Zulu pants are just that: very good quality pants at a reasonable price. The padding is more than adequate and it's in the right places (though more in the crotch would be nice), the pants are tough and solid, the pattern is nice, they look awesome and they feel good. Valken advertises them as highly breathable, and although the mesh does provide some breathability, they could be better in that department. That said, they are awesome - there's plenty of storage, two pockets with zippers, two cargo pockets with velcro, and two back pockets with velcro. The waist is adjustable using a velcro system and there's loops for a belt - I might actually need to use a belt. That's because Valken says that medium is for people size 30-34, but the pants are loose on me even though I'm a 32. The velcro works to keep them on, but if they were weighed down with gear I could see how I would have to wear a belt.

The price is where it's at, though. These pants go for almost $70 less than Planet Eclipse pants of the same design. To me, this is just another example of PE over-pricing their products and the competition pricing fairly. I'm willing to spend $99 on a pair of paintball pants, but $169??? No way! I'm happy with the way the V-Tac Zulus feel, I'm happy with the storage capacity and the protection they provide, and the price is totally fair. Valken knows how to make a good product and they understand that pricing is part of the game. If you're in the market for a good pair of milsim pants, go V-Tac and don't look back.

Price paid: $125.00
Pros: mesh, stretch panels, pockets, pads, waist
Cons: pads (explained), ankle ties
I chose to buy these pants because I play woodsball and speedball, and these pants are absolutely great for both. the mesh on the back of the legs is very breathable and doesn't itch. the stretch panels work fantastic, even when crouching, crawling, etc. All of the pockets work very nice even though they are button closure and not zipper. The pads are great. They are extremely strong (reinforced with kevlar) and don't catch. But when I wear them and slide on my knees, the knee pads don't come all the way up, and sometimes I catch my stretch panel on the ground. Also the adjustable waist works very well.

Overall these pants are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Strong durable pants that work great and feel good while you play.

Valken Sports V-Tac Zulu Pants These are great pants to play in once in a while but fall apart or rip only after a few small washes. They look great but to me not worth getting. They need to be stronger, and for woodsball guys...
