Cons: Loud, Stock Barrel, Stock Reg.
It took me a while to get around to making the review, but considering that i have had the marker for a while now. I suggest that this review will only be more accurate. If your to lazy to read, skip to the bottom.

Cons:

Sound- When I first got the Etek, I read enough reviews about how loud it was going to be, so i expected a good amount of noise when I first went out to shoot it. But holy hell. This thing made my ears ring. Shortly after the first day i used it, i bought the TechT Hush Bolt (2nd Version) and it drastically cut down the noise, but its still a bit to loud in my opinion.

Stock Barrel - Jesus Christ. I could be blaming multiple things here. Faulty paint, wind, temp/humidity of the day, bore, blah blah blah. The Stock Barrel is ****. nuff said. Unless your a guy that shoots .69- paint bore your not going to get a high spread, and if you play back. it just gets almost to the point of desperation. BUT, when i shot Valken Crusade, i must say. it shot very very well. not exactly "Shooting Ropes" but it was a very tight spread. BUT then the pant got stuck in the highway of my Prophecy (but thats a different story, check my review for the prophecy for more of that info.) if you want this marker, plan on buying a new barrel soon. I recommend the CP original 2peice back, and the CP Dynasty front. OR the DeadlyWinds (but it can be pricy)

Stock Regulator - I know this may come to a shock to some people. but yes, my biggest issue was the lovely regulator. i knew from the beginning it was going to give me trouble. i couldn't keep within +/- 10FPS (which is terrifying if you play tournaments and the reef check the FPS every match) , and I'm sure it had also effected something to do with the in precision of the marker as well. Some other team mates of mine also had the Etek 3 LT and they had no problems what so ever. So I'm sure i got a faulty one, because when i went to go clean it out and re-grease. IT WAS STUCK. i know what your thinking. "this dummy is turning the wrong way blah blah its European blah blah your gay" nope. had MULTIPLE people try to un stick the stubborn bastard. but nope. nada. nothing. zip. zilch. (you get the idea) but i FIXED IT by simply buying a new reg. Violent Series SL3 (same as ego 11) and it works like a charm.

on to the good stuff. PROS:

Value: biggest pet peeve of mine in paintball besides wipers? GUN WHORES. yes laddies and gentlemen. Gunwhores. everyone has there own definition but let me give you mine. Gun Whore: A man/lady who decides to purchase a thousand dollar gun (or gets there parents to do it for them) because they think it will out do the lower end stuff. LIES I tell you. I'm not going to get into the whole "the gun doesn't make the player" but lets face it. its true. MOVING ON. the Etek is a freaking awesome marker. that being said, Planet Eclipse is an amazing company. going further into detail. Lets compare the Ego and the Etek shall we?

Ego:
-shoots well over 12.5
-great durability
-stock reg is awesome
-stock board is awesome (but lets face it, the only major different is a couple of firing modes and bright colors)
-stock barrel is DECENT
-price is in the thousands
-loud

and Etek 3 LT/AM

-shoots well over 12.5
-great durability
-stock reg sucked for me, but worked vey well for others
-board is very basic, but offers great customization
-stock barrel sucks
-price in the 400-500s
-loud
-****ty bolt

that being said - the difference between the Etek and its Spoiled Brother (EGO) are the following.

-Board (Firing Modes, not BPS or anything)
-Stock Barrel and Reg
-about 800-1000 bucks.
-****ty bolt

FUN FACT: SL3 Reg $79 and a good barrel kit? hmmm... 100? and the bolt? 25 buddy.

I will let you do the rest on your own. The Ego is an AMAZING marker. don't get me wrong. But the upgrades that Planet Ecplise and other various companies provide can easily turn your $500 Etek into a $1300 Ego.

Shooting Quality - AFTER i switched the: BOLT, BARREL, and REG. this thing was freaking SMOOTH. it shot like charm. Ropes? well, yes. if you choose the right paint, but the trigger has a GREAT arch to it. so its easy easy EASY to bump up to 12.5 on semi no prob.

last but not least

Weight/Size - Im 6'0" and about 180lbs. this gun was PERFECT for me. its never been an issuer with me when running to a bunker. let alone, carrying around in the lovely marker box it came in from the lovely Planet Eclipse. plus the grip is flipping awesome. giving you even more control when getting across that field to bunker some un worthy opponent.

OVERALL. the Etek LT is worth every darn penny. and if your up to investing in a few easy upgrades, then it works good as any high end marker out there. happy hunting fellas. may paintball live and prosper.

Cons: Preferences
It was close to a year by the time I was finished owning my Etek3 and didn't regret a single day. This gun line has always brought what players desire in high end markers and provided it in an affordable mid-range marker. The gun it's self is very well designed and compared to other competing markers in it's range at the time of it's release, blew the competition away. Planet Eclipse's Ego line is nothing if not reliable and efficient, so they captured this perfectly in this latest Etek model.

Like it's high end counterpart, the Etek3 came standard with Eclipse's popular on/off Asa system, Clamping feedneck w/deftek off set, Zick rammer, Cure bolt, and Regulator.

Many people worried that the LT frame would be weak and prone to breaking or bending easier due to it's composite material but is actually rather sturdy. One thing people don't take into account, if you're in a situation that will end with a broken gun frame then it's not quite the guns fault as it is the users'. The LT frame made the gun seem slightly lighter than the AM model and the price difference was a big seller for myself.

Weekend after weekend this gun went into my bag and came out performing exactly as one would expect an Ego to and I never found myself worrying about if it has enough oil or when the last cleaning was like I have with previously owned spool valves.

I got this marker as my first "real" tournament marker when it was released. It was everything I expected. It was efficient but like the ego it was loud. But also like the ego this thing takes very little maintenence. For the price there are better markers but this also is a quality marker if you do not want to to much maintnence and just pick it up and go.

Well its a planet eclipse marker so its great, very solid intermediate gun, would diffinetly recommend to others. the only thing is that its a open poppet bolt system makes marker operate very loudly sometimes creates problems with communications, otherwise all around very decent marker for the price.

Cons: Its not an EGO
ETEK3s are great for the money. The only problem is you are most likely better off buying a used EGO as you will get more for your money. Also worth the extra money to go from the LT to the AM since the AM is alot more upgradeable.

All in all, its a nice marker, great entry level gun. If you dont mind getting a used gun, I would go with a used 08 or 09 ego for the same money
