The Dye Precision Carbon Fiber Ultralight series barrel has become my standard "go-to" barrel for all my cocker threaded markers.

I like it so much, I have all four bores...

The longer control bore made of a thin stainless tube wrapped in carbon fiber is the 'best of both worlds' solution that Dye came up with for top players.

The stainless material retains its smooth finish much better than aluminum, making your chance of your control bore being the cause of your broken paintball nearly zero.
The carbon fiber strengthens the thin tube and protects it from dents/dings while keeping the weight down to a reasonable (expected) level.

The control bore is an inch longer than the standard aluminum Ultralight, which many players will tell you is a good thing, the longer the bore the straighter the shot has been heard on many fields.

The CF UL takes any Ultralight series tips, so if you have a custom color tip you can screw it right into the CF back and go play!

Don't forget to adjust your velocity, though...

I would recommend this to any player, whether speedball or woods and at any skill level.

The ONLY downside is the price, which is (like many Dye offerings) unfortunately high.

You can usually find them used for a nice discount, though.

Dye Precision Carbon Fiber Boomstick Performs like it should. Looks sleek and weighs almost nothing. I like the interchangeable tips, and that was a huge selling point for me to not buy other carbon fiber kits out right now.

Dye Precision Carbon Fiber Boomstick If I had the money, I would put one of these on every gun I own. They're great little barrels, but they're just so expensive!

Pros: Lightweight, looks cool
Cons: Expensive
Overall the barrel is extremely durable and reliable. I found if for some reason a ball chopped that the paint was easily cleaned out of the barrel by shooting a few more rounds. I never really had to squeegee the barrel out after a break. The price seems expensive for what you are getting, but "cool" looks come at a price I suppose. Another solid product by Dye.

Cons: Expensive
As others have mentioned previously these barrels do as advertised, they fire paint and they do so amazingly; while looking great to boot.

My only gripe is that they're not available as single backs, paying $149 at retail for a back and front is a tad much. Luckily I picked mine up nib for $50 less.

Dye Precision Carbon Fiber Boomstick We have had two of these at our field break when diving. Last I checked we have the only two to ever break. But as long as you don't mess up your dive, you should be fine.

In my opinion Dye has always made the best barrels. They are always one of the most expensive but you pay for quality. I've been using dye barrels since 2003 and won't ever use anything else. The Carbon Fiber Dye barrel matches their quality of the Ultralites ive used for years.

Pros: Very Light, Accurate, Self Cleans Well
Cons: Price
I've had my CF Boomstick about a month now, and have shot a couple of case of paint through it, on my '08 Etek 2. I opted for the 15" .688 barrel. The barrel performs flawlessly. It is very accurate, comparing it to a St!ffi (14" .691), Planet Eclipse Shaft 2 (14" .693) and a '06 Smart Parts Freak w/ AA front (14" using .689 insert), on the same marker with the same paint. The control bore is very long on this barrel. It's a full 7 inches compared to 6 inches or less on most other barrels.
As for weight, it is noticably lighter than both the Freak and the Shaft 2. It is only a bit heavier than the St!ffi, though.
I wanted to test for self cleaning so I delibratly cracked a ball and loaded it in. I had already shot 1 3/4 cases of paint with no breaks. As expected the ball broke in the barrel, after 3 shots the marker was shooting accurately again.
Appearance is something very subjective. I think it looks great where others may not. That's up to you. Bottom line, performance is amazing, and I have a hard time faulting this barrel outside of price. I would strongly recommend this barrel to anyone who can afford it.
