Some people don't like the NT's because they have one of the very first. I had two of the very first batch and they both shot like crap. The were chopping paint, bad asa's, and had anno flaws. But now that I have a new one that was made just last week, it is AMAZING!! They came out with a new case for it which is a plus. It's a little more suited for the gun. Now that the asa, ram spring, and other issues are taken care of, I couldn't ask for a better gun. All the Dye line guns are great and I think the NT just completes the family. People complain about the grips but really.. How often do you need to open them anyway? When you do have to open them, its not a hard process if you know what your doing. This thing is also a lot easier to maintain that what some think. The few orings that are on the gun are easily accessible unlike some of the other guns out there (Luxe can orings). All in all I think this gun deserves alot more credit than what people are giving it. 9.5/10

There isn't much in paintball that I haven't owned or shot. The Dye NT, as a whole, is right there on top with any of the best features of any of the guns out there. Its under 2 pounds, has incredible ergonomics, a very good bolt design, and amazing efficiency for a single tube marker (blow forward).

To make an accurate paintball gun, it needs to be consistent. Dye has done this by creating a bolt that uses a fixed air volume per shot, and a very consistent regulator which should always be set at around 130-140psi. You adjust the velocity by adding spacer rings to decrease the shot volume.

This is by far one of the best bolt systems I've run across. PE tried to do something similar by controlling air volume in the Geo using a fancy solenoid, but its not nearly as efficient as the NT.

I don't have the updates yet from Dye, but I've put 2.5 cases through the gun in one day of play with only one broken ball shooting $30 valken paint.

Yes, the NT is EXPENSIVE, but well worth the price. I got mine very slightly used at a significant discount, but its still right up there with the most I've paid for a gun. I'd do it again in a heartbeat though, as I've never shot a gun that had all the great features of the NT without any of the drawbacks of typical spool guns.

DYE NT 10 1,599.99 -- I have owned a Sheridan VM 68, spyder aggressor, dragun tes, Bruiser Outlaw, spyder RSX... and a sling shot Never had the desire to spend a house payment on a marker before now. The first thing I did was google. I checked out the teaser, the rednecks on youtube and I read some reviews. Let me start by saying "I love DYE" I have jerseys, pants, hopper, tubes, stickers, and a calender signed by Keeley Watson So I add the NT to my shrine. Comes well packaged with a nice case, lube, spare parts, one of those packets that I'm not supposed to eat, and a multi tool. I resist the urge to take it apart. (everything I seen shows it working right out of the box, didnt want to mess anything up) I read the instructions cover to cover and make some trigger adjustments. Truth be told, it doesn't feel like it should cost so much. It looks great, and feels amazing. Just holding it was like meeting a girl thats so far out of your league your amazed she will even talk to you... but, well i expected "flawless." The trigger didn't feel much different than adjusting any other marker, it even had a little play. The reg was a little uncomfortable to hold and feels a little loose (could of put the macro line to the bottom cap for a little more grip room mebe?) but I'm no engineer. Per instructions, I counter-clocked the screw 3 full 360 degree turns to get the velocity 285* The sticky grip removal is really unneeded (its a seven step process) was anyone really complaining about the 45 seconds it takes to unscrew 3 allen screws? And colored light programing... I wasn't expecting voice and finger print activation... but colored lights? Ok, so that just means I paid for the performance and appearance, not the engineering or programing. I can live with that. I get to the field, gas it, hopper it, and head for the crono. About 1 in 3 people on the field know what it is... and how much I spent (My friends think im stupid/crazy, but... well, they have girlfriends) with a crowed around me (most seeing this marker for the first time) I slide the airport open, and its leaking?? well, just a little. mebe it just needs a couple rounds fired. Hoping it wont blow up, I pull the trigger... I was amazed at how quite the solenoid is... over the laughter of everyone behind me. Trying to think what I did wrong I double check everything. Still not firing. The bleed button isn't popping out. I get the instructions, and start tinkering, lubing, O-ring-ing. A couple guys with high end markers help me out. We check springs, the reg, the eyes, The NT really is an amazing gun (not being sarcastic) I had it in pieces for two hours. I was wrong about the engineering. It truly has to be seen to be believed. So much went in to the design. Got online and checked some forums, and looks like I may just need an upgrade kit. Not really what I expected from my first high-end marker. I called DYE (Had to leave a message) and will wait for a reply. I finished the day out with my spyder, still had fun, and played well. Thanks to the guys that tried to help me out. DYE is still an amazing company, Keeley is still my dream girl, and I know I will be having the last laugh. I will update my review when I get it working and again when I do some tweaks and run a couple of cases thru. I'm no noob (16+ yrs) but this is my first high end marker. I hope this review is somewhat helpful. ******update****** Took about a week to send in the marker and get it back (side note- DYE customer service 10/10) but i wanted to really play with this before updating my review. The only mod i have made is a drop forward... I have T-rex arms and it was hard to cradle :p Anyway, Been going out every other weekend, shot about 11 cases (mostly dragon man field paint) "DXS triumph" and I have broken 6 balls!! ... A lot more if you count people i have shot out February 21st, It was 20 degrees outside, shooting Draxxus frostbite (and i dont recommend it)I still only broke 2 balls out of the case, but at that point I was still tweaking. After much research (playing and recommended settings from threads) im running- dwell:6, Only spacer body, blue flow insert, chrono to 265. (personal preference, shoots 295 no prob) I still think it could be a little quieter. The fast grips kinda came in handy... cause it eats batteries like cartman eats cheesy poofs, but to be fair i have pulled the trigger 22,000 times. With the drop forward, the nice case is a nice tool holder (gun wont fit) And... honestly its hard to find a real complaint? I love this marker. If you see me on the field, I will let you shoot it. I am sorry DYE, I cant in all fairness update my star rating. I paid $1,599 for something that should of worked out of the box as well as it works today, but if it did I would rate: --APPEARANCE: 5 PERFORMANCE: 4.5 RELIABILITY: 4.0 VALUE: 3.5

Shot my NT today, let me start by saying wow. I got my NT on Monday from CSPAINTBALL. It shot amazing today, I carry 6-7 pods out and a full 220 magna: air efficiency was never an issue and I still had around 2300 psi left in my 68/4500.. I had 1 barrel break out of my 2nd case, which I blame condensation in barrel and paintball's swelling in the Texas heat. I did not have a swab but I didnt need one.it was shooting ball on ball, and very quiet.

Pro's: I love the frame,
-weight,
-bolt set up,
-barrel,
-efficiency is like a poppit!!
-regulator
-minimal kick
-dye case
-dye tool
-very prompt customer service
-color coded orings
-amazing trigger

cons:
-board (should have been a oled or LCD, I hate counting blinking llights, especially in this price range)
- grips ( I would've liked screws instead, and I feel the grips could hug the frame closer)
-should have came with cf boomstick in this price range
-feedneck (should have a finer thread screw or a thumb wheel)

overall I give this gun a 9 out of 10 as most of my cons were preference, gun works flawless and turns heads.

I traded my Geo for a NT (I know good deal right!!) so I can't really give a good view of value, but for $1500ish I wouldn't buy it. I really wanted to love this gun because I'm a huge Dye fan and love every gun they have made, but I only liked this.

Pros: Real light gun, and the new UL frame sits nice in the hands and real comfortable. Once you get used to the tool less grips, they make changing modes/batteries a breeze. The new airport is nice, but I didn't see anything wrong with the old one. I like the purge system on the back of the bolt like the in SLG and the new bolt system with the spacers makes tuning the gun truly yours to choose. Real efficient, I got about 8 pods and a hopper from a 45/4500.

Cons: My only real problem with it is the feedneck. There is not allen key slot on the side of the feedneck so you can only adjust the feedneck in full rotations of the cam lever. My hopper was either too loose or too tight, so I ended up putting a piece of tape on it to make it fit right.

Performance: I was a bit disappointed with this part. I mean it shot great, very consistent, smooth, and fast. However I was expecting more than what I got. That being said, it was not much better than a Ion, and at ten times the price, I don't find it worth it.

Overall: Great gun, I would recommend it to anyone, but only through trade because paying the full price imo isn't worth it.

Cons: New technology/ Expensive
I bought a yellow wave NT the other week and was pleased with its performance. Out of the box I gas'd it up and noticed it leaking out of the bottom of the ASA a bit. I noticed that it has to be positioned right and after lubing the O-rings it stopped. It DOES kick alot out of the box. IDK if this is due to the gun/reg needing to be broke in or what but I didn't expect it. After playing with the spacers and other fun stuff I got the kick down and love the way it shoots! It was all over the chrono when I took it to the field, spiked a few but had its moments when it was REALLY consistent. The spiking I'm sure is due to the unbroken in reg.

1700 dollars! My DM9 shot like 1700 dollars honestly. But the NT does shoot beautifully, but money plays a big role of course. So really it all depends on how much you like the sport of paintball and want to take a gamble on new technology. I honestly believe that if you choose to buy a NT, you will not be dissapointed if you stick with it. The reason why I gave the reliability 3 STARS is because I havn't played with it enough to rate this. Hope this helps any people out looking at the DYE NT.
