Everything shoots well out of the Viking, but this ball shoots well out of everything. I am really impressed with the APX Gear line of paints. From Agro to Agro Pro to Fyre, everything is extremely impressive. I don't know what they are doing different that the other paint companies, but it's working. Even with the paint around 6 months old it still shot great during practice. Well worth the investment- especially when compared to the other available paints out there. I've been a fan for a couple years now- back when APX Gear marketed "Beast" paint and all of it has been good from then to now.

We bought 5 cases of the paint to use for a weekend of woodsball play. The weather was 50-55 deg, with periods of slight misting rain.
I had one ball break just outside of the barrel other than that no problems at all.
We were using ICD freestyles, dm3, autococker, pm's, minis and tippmanns, so we ran the gambit of types of markers.
No one had complaints about the paint. We got two different colors of shells, but the fill was the same. The white shell with the logos looked really cool, the other shell was a half white, half blue.
No dimples or flat spots that I could see on any of the cases. I had a friend ask me how I liked shooting it since both of us usually play with Allstars, and I commented "I longballed you didnt I??" I was able to hit him from a distance that usually even Allstars have trouble breaking, and I hit him on his sleeve.
Very nice shooting, straight, no random curve balls.
The only negative I can think of, is that they are not as consistently sized as say Allstars. The majority of them are all the same size (used a 0.687 bore), but sometimes you would get a ball that would work better in a 0.685 or smaller bore.
But I am getting very picky here.
Great ball and a great value. They have my business now!

I'm a huge fan of apx paint as they will ship to your door fast at a pretty good price. I've used agro basic, pro, and fyre. Fyre is definitely the best in the bunch. Like the other apx paint, it shoots straight, but this paint definitely has a better breaking shell. I would say its very comparable to RPS premium gold.
Pros:
These shoot very straight in my various guns. Very predictable path, so when snap shooting the paintballs go where I want them to. The fyre I got was kind of a seafoam green shell and had an odd seafoam green fill. It wasn't crazy bright to me (but I am red/green colorblind) but the fill was plenty thick. Most paint broke on target and its about as good as other paint in this price category.
Cons:
The chrono readings are a little erratic even with my best attempts at bore matching. I actually have draxxus midnight low end paint that chrono a bit better. But the inconsistency is not bad. I was just hoping to see some rock solid numbers. Also, it seemed like 1 in 10 paintballs were hard as marbles. Wouldn't break on concrete when thrown where the other 9 had no trouble.
I will definitely buy these again when I have an appetite for some mid to high grade paint.

I haven't shot this paint in a few months, but the last batch I got was fantastic. Every ball was perfectly round and not dimpled. 0.688 size. And it broke when it was supposed to - on people, not in the marker. If I had to come up with a con, it would be that it's now a little more expensive than it was. But still, at $50/case shipped, I'd take it over anything else in its price range for sure, but also over any other paint I've shot, period. Great ball. You can't go wrong with this one.
Whether you order direct from apxgear.com, or deepsouthpaintball.com (faster southeast/east coast shipping!), best in the business customer service as well. Really big plus in my book.

today i used this paint for the first time. i was at the SCPL at camp pendleton. this stuff worked like a dream. we had a case of all star and ended up giving it away because the fyre was more accurate. another great thing what that in each bag of paint, there was a pouch of dessicant to remove the moisture. i highly recommend using this paint, and for the price you can't beat it.

I just received some of the new APX Fyre (orange fill) and wanted to take quick photo of the fill, also thought I'd show a comparison to some Valken Graffiti (purple fill)I happen to have leftover. (did not really care for the Graffiti)
Both the Fyre and Graffiti were a tight fit in my .689 bore size barrel.
As you can see from the pictures you cant see the text of the paper showing through on the Fyre, the Graffiti looks thin/watery/runny. This shows how much thicker the fill is on the Fyre vs the Graffiti, by touch you can definitely feel how much thicker the fill is of the Fyre over the Graffiti.
I will be playing on saturday so I can report back on usage results.
