Pros: comes apart easily, doesn't fog, much ventilation
Cons: Foam around the eyes is fairly rough, rental looks
I love this mask for how it works. Because I don't care about the looks.
I understand how other masks might look better, be more intimidating.

But what I look for in a mask is a thermal lens, ventilation, durability and then comfort. In that order. The worst thing that can happen is fogging in my opinion. And it has never happened to me with this mask, even though I run like hell, sweat and play in temperatures which range from -20F to 95F.

You do look like a rental player though, which makes it even more impressive when you are the guy to take out half of the other team wearing Dye i4s. Actually makes your skills show more. People don't expect it.

Cons: lens straches easily
i got this mask in november of 2008. This was an upgrade from my JT USA Radars. The first time i used them i was playing woodball on a rocky surface after it rained. i slipped on a rock and strached them. The replacement thermal len cost more than the mask. I sold it to a friend who was getting started will a single non thermal len for 10 bucks and switched to V-force Pro-vantages which were cheaper then the Vents and the v-forces work better

Pros: Cheap,Nice fit,Realiable,Can replace lens,No Fog
Cons: Not good for playing in freezing wheather
This mask is an overall buy for how cheap it is.The great thing abou it is the lens are thermal so it doesn't fog easy.I have encountered a problem of the inside freezeing up from your breathing but no fog.The mask fits great around the ears and nice snug. The foam inside isnt your usual spongy easily giving foam.It is still soft and feels great but doesnt absorb as much so the mask isnt pushing all the way done on your face. When you get the mask there is 2 lens covers on it one on the outsude and one on the inside. The one inside is alittle difficult to get out, just find a edge where its starting to peel.

I would give this mask an overall 8.5 out of 10
Its a great mask for a great price so dont overlook this mask.

Pros: Cheap, same platform as Vents, Coverage
Cons: price, color selection, profile
Overall I don't think theres a better starter mask out there in the 30-40 dollar range. This mask is basically a bear bones Event. There are no soft ears, not much of a color selection, kind of a big profile, not the lightest mask.

But your not going to find anything this good for $30. It may not have everything you want but it has what you need.

And what made it handy for me was when I got some Events I could switch the clear lens from my Helix if I needed. So its a great backup mask if want Events as your main mask.

Pros: Goodt fit for my head
Cons: Chin strap hard to disconnect
I tried on several masks as I have a large head and glasses. I really wanted a mask that the foam went above my eyebrows and cleared my glasses. I also wanted to keep under $50.00. This was a good match.

This Helix has a good amount of venting. I have only noticed rebreathing air on these hot, hot summer months.

The foam is comfortable and dries quickly.

The visor bounces paint well and has been hit several times

The back strap works great. I like this strap a bit tight and it holds well and has rubber lines that help keep it from slipping. The chin strap has been removed as it was hard to unclasp and had no pad to keep the plastic from rubbing the skin.

This version has removable ears which makes it easy to clean. But they do just slightly rub my ears if I am not wearing my head wrap.

I like the system for keeping the lense in. Not the fastest to remove but much simpler then others in this price range. It has what seems like a fail safe system. Has a clip, twist off the strap and remove the peg and the lense is out. Sounds harder then it is.

Complete cleaning with full disassemble and reassemble about 3 minutes. only hard area to clean is a valley that the lense sits in around the nose.

I am still looking at masks for my big head but using this one for 6 to 7 hours at a time is not making me want to replace it soon. Just if I find a better fit.

Pros: Great mask for the price
Cons: low ventilation
This is a wonderful mask for new people to the sport, or people who don't want to spend $100 for a highend mask. It is very sleek, and has a pretty nice appearance, but the low amount of ventilation on the mask makes it somewhat difficult to breathe. It fits my small head well, and the thermal lens is a great addition.

Cons: See below
Decent price, decent quality. What mainly bugged me was the nose was too high, so the foam strip in the thermal lens always blocked the middle of my view. The hard foam in the mask didn't sit the most comfortable on my face, but it got the job done. Overall this is a great backup mask to own or use as a loaner. If I wouldn't known at the time, I would've just saved up a little more and bought a Proflex or another JT instead.
