Cons: field employees are hit or miss
I will start with customer service. The owner and referees are hit or miss. If you have the good crew you will play alot of games, and be kept moving. As opposed to this, if you end up with the scrubs you will know right away. Games will take a long time and you will be frustrated by there lack of knowledge. Good guys to look for at the field include, Jim, Brandon, Mike, and Phil if he is there. They work and keep things going. If you do end up with Tina and a few other refs, I need not mention, I can understand a bad experience. Alot of the refs are people who play at the field, and if a more experience player isnt there they tend to not do a good job splitting up teams. You really have to ask and keep on the ref to keep teams fair. They also tend not to ref as they should or only check player that are close to them. I can not say it is all bad with all the refs, as some do work hard to check players.
Second would be field equipment. The rentals they provide are getting older and starting to show there age. They tend to leak and be hit or miss with working for a whole day. I honestly have not been to a field where ever rental goes out and work perfectly all the time. I would give their rentals a 6 with 10 being the best. They do have both hpa and co2 which is nice. At the out door facility, if you dont get there early, you will have trouble getting over 3k. The masks they rent out are relatively new and would easily be a 8 on the same scale as above. With the volume of people they move I do find their equipment to be up to par.
Quality of field is the next issue to be discussed. This is the strongest point for urban. There were 4 outdoor fields to play on and 2 more are being built. They have a variety of wooded fields with trench, helicopter and normany. They also have a huge 10 man hyper ball field. I could talk about each field for a long time but think it would be better to say they have something for all players.
As for fun and experience urban ranks relatively high. They have alot of great open game players. They have about 15 regulars and a good flow of new players who come in and out. They have averaged of the past 3 weekends a steady flow of 10 on 10, with one weekend have 20 on 20. Also, they have a variety of players who can help you with anything you need if you ask. They provide alot of tips and are usually willing to work with anyone on there gun to get it fixed. All and all there are alot of good people to ensure your open play is fun.
Value is the final topic to address. The value at urban is unmatched for open play. You can byop it for 25 bucks and get all day air for free if you arrive before open game starts. They also offer a variety of packages that can accommodate any party, family, or business venture. I recommend calling for current pricing options as there website is not updated often.

Overall, great field to play recreational paintball. Would give it a 7 with the potential to grow back into a 10 over the next year. Interested to see how things progress this year. Will update as the year goes on. Hope to see you round the local PA Fields.

Sometime there are a need for more ref's, but that is with every place. I enjoyed this place to play paintball and will be there again.

Pros: Fields, knowledgeable staff, open play turnout.
Cons: Parties screwing up open play, rental equipment
I've been playing here for about a month since I started getting back into paintball and I'll be the first to say, Urban Assault is different from any other field I have ever been to and it is definitely a good thing. I may have just began playing again but I am no scrub. I have about 3 years of prior experience and 1.5 years of tourney experience before taking a 2 year break from the sport.

Urban Assault is known mainly for having 2 indoor courses, and their outdoor Hyperball course. Hyperball is my current favorite. It is a type of speedball but instead of air inflated bunkers, the bunkers are made out of plastic pipe. The Hyperball and Mini Hyperball courses are both very well designed. And coming within the next hopefully 2 weeks is an Airball course. So teams and skilled players, come on out.

They also have many varieties of Woodsball including a Defend/Attack objective course called Normandy. Normandy has a castle, and many other bunkers on the defense side, who's objective is to keep the attacking team from rushing up the hill and overtaking the castle. There is another Woodsball course called trenches which is for a more close up, but at the same time, tactical gameplay.

Overall...it is a very enjoyable place to play, witch very few cons. My only complaint is you never know when a party will show up. In which case you still get to play open play by yourselves, just having limited choices to where you play without interfering with the party. But the refs are pretty good at keeping things fair.

SO COME ON OUT TO THE NEW AND IMPROVED URBAN ASSAULT. GET SMACKED AROUND A LIL' BIT. GOOD LUCK

Pros: the field was cool
Cons: Just about everything else
This review is for the indoor field only i have played at the outdoor but that was a while ago. Lets start with customer service. Well first of all they had a lady running the front desk (collecting the cash and filling you hopper(not very full but i will get to that in a min)). We were part of the birthday package $25 a piece and you get a gun co2 and 40 paintballs every round but the dont measure anything i counted and she had given me 26 paintballs... and they will not let you use your own paint but the suck at forcing people to do that so my team had 20-30 balls and the other team had 200. Everyone else in my party had trouble with their guns mine worked but it chopped a ball like every other shot. Now to the co2 well mine lasted but everyone else was running out one guy ran out every round he took it to the ref(because he was the only one who could fill) and he did not put much co2 because the next round he ran out again. He did not even use a scale he just hooked it up the said "I think thats enough" when it was not even close to being full. You can bring your own gun(i would advise it their guns suck so bad) and they had a chronograph but some one stole it so the lady at the counter said you can use your own gun but if some one says it hurts we will just turn it down... they also have a a 500 watt stereo system that does not work... The ref did nothing he was just a horn blower he did not really ref at all i know i hit some people but he didnt tell them they were out he just sat there watching me light this guy up who would not go out... the first round we played capture the flag but i did not know this the ref did not say where the flags were or what we were playing at all. The last thing i saw the paint they are using cryptic balls (not the best ball but it shoots) they go to Dunham sports (i know this from the sticker on the box) the same place were i get my paint for $30 a case but dicks sell the same ball for $40 a case and sell theirs for $80 a case. If you ask me it was not worth the money if you are into paintball find a friends house where he has woods its free and fun.

I really enjoy playing at Urban Assault when I lived in Pittsburgh. It was my home field for a couple years. I really like being able to get to the field in about 15 minutes. The other players were very nice and help you learn to play better every time you go out.

I enjoyed playing speedball since most of my experience had always been woodsball.

Pros: BYOP, Price, On Site Air Fills, Fun
Cons: Need more refs for open play.
For my first time at the field and for the first time playing against other player instead of a few friends in the woods, it was a real blast.
There was a birthday party going on and there was about 4 of us that was not part of the party there but there was no issue getting us in with the party to join them.
Everyone was well played. Called their hits and as far as I can tell did not cheat ANY. All players had a great time and helped each other out as far as if someone was bunkered down and stuck.
air fills seemed quick for those that needed it and the paint that the party goers was using was good.
Phil was really cool, taking time to talk to players and even offer some tips and joked around with people.

Only down side was that we had one Ref.
But in his defense, he was really cool about things and did a great job. Was on top of things as much as possible and was friendly, joking and well reserved even when I mistaked him for a player cause at one point all I saw was his mask and shot at him. Otherwise he was very fair.

I am glad to have played there and now consider it my home field since it is the closet one too me.

Enjoyed the BYOP for the open play.

My Marker was chrono-grahped right off the bat.

Some of the rental equipment seemed a little broken down but I dont expect rentals that get abused to always work right off the start. But otherwise there was alot of effort to get everyone's gear working good.

Will be going back more often as for my 11 year old loved it too. He had a great time and even got his first officall "kill" in a game.

Thanks for the great time.

Enjoyed the fields and the relaxed atmosphere. the refs were inexperinced and few and far between. customer service isnot good and price is alil steep if your playing all day into the night which they make you pay for both??? BUT I CAUTION YOU never go to have hydro test done. i waited 6 months and they were never done the when i said i just wanted them back they never got back to me and took another 3 months for them to even acknolage that they even had them. i took me threating to call the police for them to admit that they were there, and when i recived them back the carbon fiber was scatched and threads were shot. that pissed me off greatly. If your going to play or practice with a team is a good field but dont expect much other than a good plot of land to play on.
