Pros: price, field layout, nearby
Cons: no pro shop
Just had my first day at EVP, and had a great time. The crew their was very friendly and helpful, and facilitated a great day of paintball. I played on the open woodsball course, which was great terrain, well manicured, lots of objectives and bunkers. It was an excellent field for our matches, which were all capture the flag with respawns. They pretty much let us play how we wanted, but had refs and boundaries and chrono'd the guns. We played with 15, and it might have been a little tight, though we could have easily addressed that by playing elimination or a longer respawn timer.

The price was great and included a nice, simple lunch. I will definitely be going back and will recommend it to others.

I used a rental gun from them, a Tippmann Custom 98. Gun was in great shape and played very well for me. I believe all of their rentals are Custom 98s.

Pros: Great fields, very nice staff, awesome price!
Cons: Not a huge customer base yet.
Some buddies and I played at Eagle Valley Paintball this weekend and loved it. The real selling point of this place is price. There was a low field fee and you could bring your own paint. The staff was awesome, and the courses beautiful. This was a very good value and we all are looking to go back soon. It is very conveniently located off of I-99 between Altoona and State College. This is a great place for woods ball. If you are new to paintball this is the perfect course to start on because the staff is very welcoming.
They have 2 woods-ball courses which are both very different. One is very dense, the other is more open but both were beautifully manicured with many nicely made bunkers. The dense field had many paths cut through it and tunnels though the hedges. Both fields were a lot of fun and offered different experiences from each other. We played both elimination and capture the flag, with respawns and without- to try different things out. The staff were very gracious with letting players construct their own games if we wanted.
If you go, I would recommend sounding off on their Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Eagle-valley-paintball/105501666240370 ) just to let them know ahead of time.
The rentals were tippmans that looked to be in good condition and the rental package seemed to be a fair deal, price wise. They offer a pretty full menu for lunch. You basically have a cookout midway through playing, which is a lot nicer than just a vending machine (or if you are real lucky a pizza being delivered).
The field has no HPA or onsite tech, but my attitude is- get all your stuff sorted out before you show up to the field (.68 Caliber paintball in Hollidaysburg is a great store and its pretty close) that way we donít all need to chip in with a higher field fee to cover the extra overhead to get your stuff sorted out (and thatís what back-up guns are for).
Awesome field, check them out!

Pros: Excellent staff, great price, great experience
Cons: Briar thorns
Just came from a great day at Eagle Valley. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. You can play any type of game (we played capture the flag, elimination, and free for all.) The field is large, 8 acres. There are a couple forts and a lot of stick barriers. The field has some briar thorns so make sure to wear tough pants (my legs got jacked up.) All in all a great experience.
